Bar Risers or Bar Backs
« on: May 06, 2020, 14:29:57 »
I'm looking to pull the bars back a bit as my shoulders overextend with stock bars . The ones I have seen online only draw back about 2 cm. doesn't seem that that would be enough of  a difference . Does 2 cm back change the position significantly or should I be able to get 6 or 7 cm barbacks -- maybe that would be too much ( ? ) . Difficult to tell without actually doing it .

6 or 7cm would be massive. You should be OK with 2cm unless you're not very tall/have very short arms...

2cm may be enough, but anything beyond is likely to need a new brake hose and possibly clutch/wiring (at 6-7cm)

I recently fitted a set of risers to my Honda CB500, they are and inch up and an inch back and they work a treat however, I will be honest though, they were cheap and a shit fit.

I had to modify my existing clamps to make the bolt holes match  :dl_smiley_banghead: my feedback reflected my experience but I guess you get what you pay for

But now, they fit, sort of  they are great.

I fitted a set of these and they have made a huge difference to my 1000XT

I had zero troubles with fitting and no changes were needed for cables etc
Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do or die.

Mine fitted easily and no change to the cables was needed. They do make a difference and the riding position is better but I feel I need another 3 or 4 cm back to be comfortable .
