good and bad news
« on: November 24, 2019, 17:57:55 »
Well I have taken the plunge and bought a Triumph Tiger 1200 XRT so looks like I'm in traitors corner, the good news is my brother got a great deal on my old strom and has joined the group so the bikes still here.

Now the not so good, had my bike a week and back at the dealers, I have what I think is the worse bike in the world as a loan bike, CB500X, suspension is terrible and feel every bump but then I'm not a light weight.

Enjoy the new toy when it arrives   :thumb:.

Always been on my 'list' but for one reason or another I've not bought one. Yet...

back in for heated seat not working correctly, brakes also pulsing, bike not new but still under warranty, lovely ride but hoping this is not a sign of things to come.

That's strange. The cb500 x got great reviews as a lightweight do anything entry level adventure bike.

My last three Triumph's ( 1050 tigerĂ—2, 800 tiger) all warped their front discs by 3000 miles, nice to see some things don't change! Hope they sort it for you, they did for me on the 1050's but not the 800.

The CB500X just feels cheap, for a brand new bike the suspension feels harsh but sips fuel on the plus side.

I know they are a budget bike being a Honda was expecting it to feel a bit more expensive.
mine is being done tomorrow, got the email to say it is booked in to the work shop for new disks and pads.

Well I like the look of the Triumph Tiger sport only 2 issues with it not shaft drive and the choice of colour bit naff.

On the other hand the BMW 1250 Sport has it all so thinking in the spring booking test rides what does the audience think?

Like the bike not the colour. Someone else on another forum called it not so much striking gold as urine yellow! lol
But its sure a lot lower and lighter than an adventure bike, important as you get older!

I have it back, picked it up Friday, cold on the way up to collect it on the little CB500X but good on the way back.

it got me thinking why don't all new bikes come with heated grips and hand guards..

The Triumph lasted a few months but sold it already, I have purchased another bike but still in traitors corner.

I am now the least popular rider on the road as I have bought an R1250GSA, main advantage is the 400 mile tank range, lets see how long this lasts.

Some will say "out of the frying pan into the fire " with that choice  :stirpot:

Great bike, just don't fill it up full on the side stand and don't use harsh degreaser in the wheels,  it'll either take the paint off or seriously fade it.

Hope it lasts longer in your ownership than the triumph..   :thumb:
