Exhaust 2020 DL650

(1/1)

Tone:
Hi, I put a Delkevic exhaust on my 2020 DL650, I have heard that changing the exhaust can make it run weaker? What’s happening is when I roll on the throttle it kind of dies a bit, sort of stutter, then once you twist a bit more it starts to pick up. Could this be the exhaust? Any other ideas please.

nigel s:
occams razor,if you only changed the exhaust then yes the exhaust is the problem.
check all joints are tight, not leaking,if it still does it, bike needs remapping.reflash would be way to go, maybe £350.
2017 on 650's you can't just pop on an end can, as you'll know, that's quite a major difference in fueling, personally, if checking joints doesn't sort it, I would put old one back on till I could book a reflash in.

Upt North:
Yes Tone, if that's what you've changed then that'll be the problem.
I would suspect the lack of back pressure is upsetting the sensors/fueling.
Either put up with it or have the fueling sorted.
Upt.

Dark-Strom:
Hello, I had this to a lesser degree on my sub 5k mile 2012 model 650. When I fitted an O2 eliminator from smart moto (£25 and noticeably more torque), as well as an aftermarket HIFLO air filter (£12) it was sorted. This bike is now my Sons and though restricted to 47bhp, my Ninja 650 struggles to make any inroads from the lights when following. Just a thought   :thumb:
