What no smilies
« on: February 13, 2016, 18:23:53 »

Since I installed windows 10 I have lost the ability to add smilies to posts / replies
Nothing happens when I click on them
Does anyone know why.

I'm running Windows 10 with no problems Dave.

(Edit - This post was on Windows 7, but the edit is Windows 10  :) )

It is not the site. My laptop running win10 is exactly the same. It must be in the settings (wherever they are).

I have 7 with 10 upgrade, no problems.

I've found a possible culprit. Click reply or new topic.  There is a line 'Attachments and other options' click on it and you will find 'Don't use smileys'...........

Just a guess..........
So how's it going so far then?

That option still puts the smiley in the post, but in text only.

When you say nothing happens, do you mean nothing appears in the post at all?

First a little history.
Laptop would not respond to any clicked object above the message box.
Desktop worked as per normal in windows 7
Yesterday I installed win 10
NOW

Desktop is behaving as the laptop

I have looked at the attachments blocker and it is not checked

If I click on a smiley it is not added to the post

I cannot add images or change font, colour , etc. nothing above the message box can be activated although the drop down menus do drop down no changes can be made.

I just went to another forum and did a test message and everything over there is working as normal for me.

Can you try typing the code for a smiley - any of these examples

Code: [Select]

Also, are you still using the same Browser in Win10 as you did in Win7 ?

This post is in Win10, using the EDGE browser.

Nothing works as per your first post.

So, use Internet Explorer or Chrome and you will be OK.

Internet Explorer is still in Win10, it just isn't the default.
