All will be welcome in the new sub forum with the exception of the twats panic buying stuff.

It will be inclusive.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Unless you get takeaway breakfasts you won't be having one for the foreseeable future either.

I'm quite a dab hand at cooking one myself Paul, although I hear eggs are in short supply in the shops! However, within a few miles we have a free range chicken farm who have plenty & we also have a couple of 'farm shops' who butcher their own meat so hopefully I won't miss out on all that is good!!   :thumb:  lol

Even though I'm not, maybe I could be in that category..?
After all we are still open, busier than ever and keeping bikes on the road.

On a more serious note regarding the virus, while I was away for a few days this week (sunny Yorkshire) my mum (age 96) fell and broke her hip on Wednesday. Luckily I have a brother & three sisters who rallied round and got her to hospital where she was sorted pretty quickly. Yesterday she was operated on and had a new hip fitted!! Today she is up, out of bed and eating & drinking.
The hospital is on lock down from yesterday so none of us can go and visit.  ###
My youngest sister (ex general nurse) stayed at my parents house for the last two nights to help my dad (age 93), who 'can get about' but does struggle a little. This morning he wasn't feeling well, headache, cough and a high temperature. My sister has been on the phone all day to 111, waiting on hold most of the time, then to the doctors, on hold for over an hour, then awaiting a call back from a nurse. That came at around 18.00 tonight...........by that time my dad was much better, and his temperature was back to normal, however the advice from the doctors practice is for my sister and dad to self isolate for at least 7 days!!!!!
So we can't even see my dad (or sister) now for seven days!!!

If pubs and cafes are closed from tonight, what about motorway services and motels?
Just my luck that as fuel prices drop I get serious encouragement to stay home.
Hmmmm! Fishing? that's social distancing .... Ah! but sweetcorn is all gone from the shops so what to use as bait? I might need the luncheon meat for survival ....
Fishing tackle shops have sweatcorn but they want £2.80 for a tin
I only have one tin of chick peas left so that'll have to do.
Here's a little one from Wednesday...

Nice one Brocket. Going to have to get my still water tackle sorted (no giggling at the back) and spend a few hours in isolation myself.
Get a bag of halibut pellets & a bit of spicy groundbait, with a couple of small or one big pellet hair rigged you'll do OK.
The sweetcorn will be back on the shelves soon!

@Mick, your folks sound well hard. I'm sending them my best wishes from my brain.

@Brockett, I see "Kipper" turned up again. Are you taking him for a walk again tomorrow?

@Mick

My mother in law very vulnerable so I empathise.

Surely your sister should have been advised to self isolate for fourteen days?

Got a surprise at Asda this morning. Called at 07:30 before work, found all doors shut and two burly bouncers outside. They were just turning me away when one eagle-eyed Einstein spotted the Postman Pat outfit. I was ushered in to find myself shopping in a two - hour window with the OAPs. (General public allowed from 09:00 onwards.) It was a piece of piss, I'm faster and stronger than them. Still bugger all in the shop though, at this rate I'm going to lose weight and save a fortune.

Correct Neil, I did't read the message fully....my dad is 7 days, my sister 14 days!!
They're not testing either of them though, unless things get worse. Temperatures still normal tonight so my dads was only high for less than 12 hours.

Good news that its almost certainly a false alarm.

Inconvenient now but not reacting to the symptoms not really an option so the right decision made :thumb:
Many of us will find ourselves in similar situations I think.

I agree, but I was expecting the symptoms to be a bit more than a headache and a high temperature for less than 12 hours. His temperature was back to normal by the time the surgery got back to my sister.
However, yes, better safe than sorry.  :thumb:

Hope your parents both recover soon and get back to normal. You'll have to Skype/Video call them  :thumb:
