2 Rear to 1 Front?
« on: June 04, 2017, 08:24:29 »
Just thought I'd ask your opinion on whether the ratio applies to any of you when needing to change tyres.

I need to change my Anakee 3s as a pair as there is little difference in rates of wear to both tyres. Both my brothers think the rear should wear out twice as quick and I must admit that used to be the case on my bikes in the past.

Put it another way; is the rear designed/manufactured to last as long as the front? A Michelin thing or common across all the makes?
So how's it going so far then?

My front A3 went off before the rear one on the Strom... I tend to change Strom tyres as a pair

I also change in pairs.

Unless one gets damaged after a few hundred miles  :dl_smiley_banghead:

The metzeler tourance I use on my 650 last aprox 4500 to 5000 on rear & 11000 to 12000 on front . I usualy change them one at a time when worn out .

Strange. My fronts always last a lot longer then the rears.

Anakee 3s on mine too, easily 2 rears to a front.  I change one, then the pair, though if I was tight I could run the front longer.  It is the main water shifter though...

I suggested to my brothers that maybe riding 2 up all the time would be a factor......far more braking required/load on the bike....what do you think?
So how's it going so far then?
