Jacket storm collar/ rain collar
« on: September 02, 2019, 22:11:14 »
Hello everyone, annoyingly I’ve spent about a month trying to find a replacement detachable collar for my Wolf Titainium jacket with no joy.

So my question to the forum is can anyone suggest a quality storm/rain collar that will fit over my jacket and preferably up to my chin under the helmet which will keep the rain out. Or if there’s already a thread on this subject then please point me at it.

Thanks in advance

Try this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Halvarssons-neck-collar-Black/dp/B0038WHUOQ/ref=asc_df_B0038WHUOQ/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=207920099924&hvpos=1o5&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3120036652462599551&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006466&hvtargid=pla-717252774609&psc=1

I've got two of them (one for the past 3 - 4 years) and they're excellent - full coverage from chin to upper chest at the front - stops any rain I've encountered, including January storms on Dartmoor - my only (minor) gripe would be that the elasticated back does let water in eventually, but it takes more than an hour of solid hammering rain to do so and it's more rain running from the back of the helmet down and soaking in than exterior ingress.

I haven't tried nickwaxing the back yet (that fabric spray-on stuff) which may work  - but I'd still highly recommend it - in fact there's one in my topbox now :)

I have an OJ Rain Tube by MottardInn. It takes a bit of time to arrive from Spain. It's completely waterproof and pulls tight at both ends. Just come from a Scottish highlands trip and it served me very well in some prolonged rain.
