£25 [edit: now April 2015 £27.00 posted] I will include 3 blade fuses too if you tell me what values you want, along with the other end of the bullet connectors to crimp on to your accessories power leads.
Plugs in just under the tank and will power your accessories when the ignition is on.
Can make more to order.
Thanks
-
Excellent value, similar items on the BMW forums are offered at double this price.
What do the trigger wires connect to, to activate the powering relay?
-
there's a connector just under the tank, it is for the tail light.
-
I'll take one please.
Let me know payment details etc.
-
You get the first one. You have PM. I guarantee them for 2 years so any problems let me know.
If anyone else wants one, PM or post here.
-
yes pls, I'll get it same time as the gpi/tre
-
Right o. I'll get another one knocked up for you.
-
I'll have one too.
Do you need to remove the tank to find the switch plug?
-
Nope, I just prop it up on the prop and the plug is visible. Locals are welcome to collect and have a hand plugging it in.
EDIT Glasgow is not local :D I can do an install video if it would help.
-
A neat looking job.
Something to consider for the mkII is make the Black (0V) crimp connectors male, saves any accidents if connecting polarity conscious equipment.
-
I did think the coloured wires would be a give away :D
-
I did think the coloured wires would be a give away :D
Assuming the end user is not colour blind :)
It's also a widely accepted convention to wire connectors like that.
-
OK, if that is convention I'll do so in the future.
-
Yes, convention says that the power carrying end of a cable is female and insulated. Automobiles and aircraft are all this way.
Think about sockets and plugs in your house. Stops the user getting electrocuted!
-
Those wires look more than up to the job! :thumb: that's what I like! Wish these were out 6 months ago bigpie - would have saved me quite a few quid... :)
-
Oh yes, they are quite overrated for the intended use 21amp.
-
I have an extra one ready for dispatch this week, any takers?
-
Hello Bigpie I have sent you a PM
Alan
-
Thanks, I'll send you one out with your GPI.
-
The relay trigger wire connection looks to be for the wires to the rear brake light switch. One wire would be live with the ignition on and the other would be live when the brake light is on.The relay trigger wire would be connected to the former. That's a neat little package.
-
Yep, correct. It is connected to the tail light side of the connector.
-
I'd say both sides as there are connector halves at each end to bridge the stock connector. However it is termed, it is a great place to find a connector with an ignition switched wire to trigger a relay. The wire colors even match my favourite wiring diagram for the process.
-
Yea, this connects between the 2 plugs, so no connection is broken and a feed is taken to activate the relay.
-
Let me know when you start producing headlight relays. I begrudge the high prices Eastern Beaver charge. :)
-
Go on then ! P.M sent :thumb:
-
Let me know when you start producing headlight relays. I begrudge the high prices Eastern Beaver charge. :)
Hmm, just looked them up, wow quite expensive. I'll do some research and maybe knock up one to see how much I can do them for. Bit busy at the moment though.
-
Let me know when you start producing headlight relays. I begrudge the high prices Eastern Beaver charge. :)
I second that! Postage costs etc. It's a very good mod to make, and one I keep forgetting about :shy:
A nice, affordable UK plug and play kit would be popular, bigpie. :thumb:
-
I was tempted to have a go but it's knowing what and where to source good quality products. A guide to the various electrical connectors required would be ideal.
-
A guide to the various electrical connectors required would be ideal.
I'd be interested if anyone has info on sourcing the bike specific connectors?
-
Depends on what you are after some are like chickens teeth unless you want over a 1000 units and others readily available. For the GPI connectors have been trial and error for example.
-
I modded one of these headlight relay kits for my K5 Wee, just had to shorten some cables.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vehicle-H4-He ... 5d44065f75 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vehicle-H4-Headlight-Foglight-Bulb-Cable-Relay-Kit-DC-12V-/400573226869?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d44065f75)
-
that's cheaper than I could do them for, I was pricing up the parts earlier, I'd be looking at £40ish unfortunately. Although the relays I'd use would be smaller ones than with that kit, the strom has plenty of space in that area.
-
Maybe not as cheap, but much shorter delivery time and a damned sight longer warranty.
-
Pm sent
-
PM responded.
If anyone would be interested in a highlight relay let me know and I'll look at knocking one up.
-
I've got a highlighter lol but would definitely be interested in the headlight relay.
-
Does that give your lights tints?
:haha:
-
Only when viewed through my rose coloured glasses! :)
-
I would be interested.
It would save Mr Greywolf telling me he told me so when my lights do pack up.
-
Give me a few weeks and I'll get back to you when I've had chance to get something sorted.
-
Nice one bigpie. Count me in too :thumb:
-
Hello handy bit of kit. I will take one please. Pm on the way.
-
After many years of faff and bodging, I bit the bullet and bought one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPRUNG-CRIMPI ... 0397413986 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPRUNG-CRIMPING-TOOL-3-9mm-JAPANESE-BULLET-CONNECTOR-TOOL-NON-INSULATED-TERMINAL-/360397413986)
makes terminating 3.9mm bullet crimps so much easier / better.
-
I'll have one of these too and will PM you details over the weekend, I'm also interested in a headlight relay loom if you can produce these as well?
-
I'd be interested if anyone has info on sourcing the bike specific connectors?
I've always used kojaycat.co.uk and autoelectricsupplies.co.uk for connectors, takes a bit of hunting to get the connector you're after.
I've not specifically sourced Suzuki connectors, so can't guarantee you'll find what you want, but I've changed every connector on a 350lc loom with like for like without too much trouble.
-
Thanks for the info :thumb:
-
All received Bigpie, I'll be fitting it, hopefully in the week.
-
Great. I've filmed a video fitting guide today, so I'll get that edited and uploaded later incase anyone needs it.

Heres how to fit it, I sound strange but it was weird wearing my helmet and talking to myself in the garage.

Baron von Bigpie!

On most later model Wees and all Glees, there is also a coolant bottle under the rear tank support that has to be moved out of the way.

Ah yes, the ABS models I think, thanks greywolf
-
It is the ABS models early in their availability and possibly more in the later years.
-
Hello Bigpie,
Am I right in thinking this could be used to power Kirky's LED Side Running Lights? Would look alot neater job.
-
Yea it can be used to power the lights, along with heated grips, sat navs, heated vests, weapons systems etc, anything you want to come on with the ignition.
-
Mine a 2011 Wee without ABS, it still has the coolant bottle under the rear tank support.
-
PM sent Bigpie.
:thumb:
-
...weapons systems etc...
lol
Just seen the post time!
-
cheers Bigpie
Arrived this morning. Will fit this weekend to accommodate my heated grips and usb point.
-
Cheers Mate
Got mine in the post today
I'm over the moon as I was going to pay £80 on EBay for a factory made unit.
Fitted it in around 15 minutes, found the connector under the tank and didn't even have to lift it to connect it up.
Keep up the good work
Cheers
Bigred
-
Glad you are happy with your device :D
-
My Bigpie power distribution box arrived safely.
Excellent workmanship. Very happy. :thumb:
-
Got mine too.
Now, about that free fitting in Glasgow.......................?
-
Do these fit the Glee.
If so I'd like one please.
-
Sure do, I'll PM you.
-
Received mine today Big pie, looks good and many thanks :ty:
-
You didn't respond to my previous PM but I'll take two anyway if you'll kindly PM me with details.
-
Sorry about that, I must have missed it. Replied

Hello big pie
I've hooked up a couple of twin spot lights to the aux fuse box but I'm a bit miffed at having to run each one from a separate slot! I only have 1 slot left for my heated grips and I have a charging port to refit.
Would I be able to run both sets of lights into 1 fuse slot and up the size of the fuse?
the lights are 55 watts each!
Do you have any suggestions how to run the 2 into 1?
Cheers
Tony
-
Positive from both lights to one red output negative from both to one black output. 110 watta at 12v is just under 10 amps. Each output is wired for 21amps but the total across the 3 outputs needs to remain under 30 amps.
-
Cheers
Tony
-
Another thumbs up for Bigpie's Aux Fusebox! :thumb:
Highly recomended and easy to fit, even for someone cack-handed like me. Biggest problem was removing the plastics, as my connector had vanished into the innards of my bike. :bawl:
Doubled up on Kirky's LED running lights, properly wired up my 12v external socket for sat-nav and finally got power to my rear Givi top-box light. :lala: (Bigpie, I'm going to use my Optimate charge lead for heated gear, just waiting for payday. :violin: )
Thanks for all the help Bigpie AND the blades fitted the Speedohealer as well!! :thumb: :thumb:
-
You could run couple of sets of Kirky lights from one output quite easily if you wanted. You can also chain another fusebox if you want more outputs in the future, they click together.
Glad the pins fit too, I've been thinking about taking on the speedo healer challenge next year. Intercept the hall effect sensor signal and modify it, I suspect I'll not get chance to investigate for quite some time.
-
Cheers Bigpie,
Got the older V3 Speedhealer and still trying to set it up properly, as it works by a combinations of switches, with the pattern worked out by an on-line calculator. Think the newer version is a bit easier to set-up.
If you need to have a look at one then just let us know and can always pop round. :thumb:
-
Two Aux fuse-boxes as ordered arrived today.
thanks - well done Bigpie.
-
Hello bigpie,
I am thinking with all the accessories one can plug in to the fuse box I.e., Heated jacket heated grips, GPS, front + rear running lights etc, etc, will the battery/charging system be able to cope?
-
You have a 400W output of which about 125W-150W are available for extra electrical accessories. Check the total wattage of your added items. A heat controller will reduce the draw of the heated gear when full heat is not needed. Unplugging or adding a switch to turn off one headlight will make another 55W available for heat when riding in daylight.
-
The Kirky running lights and GPS will draw very little, my heated vest is only about 18 watts according to Keis and grips about 30 watts so plenty of scope left for me, unless you are running powerful fog lights and heated gear I'd imagine you'd be the same too. As Greywolf says, you could disable one of the headlights in the day if you require more.
-
Thank you for the clarifications.
Bigpie can I order one please.
-
Hello Bigpie,
Just a quick query from an electrical numpty, what individual fuse rating would you suggest with your fusebox if running Kirky's LED's on one and a 12v socket for a SatNav on another?
Cheers
Jay
-
I'd go for the 2 amp on the Kirky lights, you'd get away with 1 amp but we've both over rated the wiring. I'd go with a 5 on the 12v incase you plug something like a compressor in it, otherwise a 2 should be more than enough.
-
Hello can I also order one please?
Cheers
Brian.

-
mine arrived this morning :) il fit it next time I get a free work day . looks good and well made. many thanks :)
-
mine arrived today, will be fitting it saturday, seems well made and a bargain
-
Anyone care to post pictures of a neat install?
-
Mine arrived today! :thumb:
-
I've got stock for 8 more.
-
Hello bigpie thanks for the fusebox up and running my kirky lights very easy to fit taking around 30 mins inc fitting the lights up to engine bars
-
Am I right in thinking that both kirky lights can be wired into one fuse location on the box ??
-
Indeed they can.
I've got 8 left at the moment and I'll not be making any more for a while, got some GPIs to be getting on with.
-
There is one connection for one set of two lights. They are wired in parallel.
-
Mine came as 2 separately wired lights, not sure if they still do. crimp the negatives together and the positives together and plug in, job done. Have a beer.
-
I guess I should have said "should be wired" instead of "are wired" because it could be construed they come that way. If you want them to come on at the same time, wire them together as stated and feed them from one source.
-
Anyone care to post pictures of a neat install?
Done today, hopefully neat enough for you!

Looking at it again I have changed the cable routing because of the blocks on the bottom of the seat. I've run the cable on the outside of the square box section instead of on top.
-
Nice and tidy
-
Just left a product review for you too ;)
-
How much posted Bigpie?
And, do you have any in stock?
Regards
David
-
£25 posted to a UK address and I now have 3 left in stock. I'll be making another batch after the next batch of GPIs are done.
-
Bigpie,
you have PM
-
Bigpie
I too sent a PM but not sure I did it right!!
Can you PM me an email address please
-
Received mine in the post this morning. Fantastic looking piece of work, I can't wait to get it installed.
Thanks again.

Did you fit two brackets for each light?
-
I did fit 2 per light. I also put double sided tape on the clips on one side and the sponge foam tape on the other one. Purely to see which works best. Once I've decided I'll swap them both to that.
I taped them because they move a bit. I'm thinking of adapting a jubilee clip with a rubber back to fit them to the conduit clips so I can tighten them properly without tape.
-
Mine arrived yesterday, now kick started me to fit my heated grips and 2nd power socket, Thank You.
Brian.
-
Just ordered and paid very easy. Looking forward to warm hands and no difficult electricary
Ian
-
Thanks to Ian T there's another batch of stock coming in to make more :thumb: :thumb:
-
Bigpie,
Received the Aux fuse box today, thank you very much, now I will wait for the lights and with any luck and watching videos I will be able to fit them.
Showed the fuse box to some work mates who are Beemer riders even they were very impressed.
-
Great stuff :thumb:
Sorry to those currently waiting for one, I ordered some more stock but forgot to pay for it, so they didn't send it me
It should be here tomorrow.
-
Everyone that is waiting for one will have it posted out tomorrow.
Got stock for 6 more, if you want one before xmas act fast :D
-
Apologies for delay in posting some feedback. Very pleased with the quality of the kit build that you've put together here and the speed at which you got it out to me :thumb: .
Easy as 'Pie' to fit too! No need to worry any longer about the heated grips being accidently left on and now have options for maybe either a heated vest, intercom etc. Decisions, decisions......
:ty:
-
Got mine too. Fab bit of kit, thanks great service
Ian
-
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you are pleased with it.
I've got 4 built and ready for dispatch at the moment.
-
Twiggy - how did you feed the cables through the plastic side wall? Big enough hole for fuse holder and splice plug, or disconnect cables from relay holder? Can't see from pics.
-
I drilled a hole for the cable and sliced down to it. When I've wired everything else in I'll glue it back together, although I was thinking of some thin black conduit. I change my mind a lot so the conduit looks more likely!
-
BigPie, did you get my pm?
-
I don't seem to have, want to try again?
-

Upside down? Each to their own I suppose!
-
Hmm good point, easily changed though - didn't even occur to me
-
Great, so the cbf trigger wire worked without swapping them back round then? Might be easier to change blown fuses the other way up
-
Do change it. The connectors will collect water and corrosion in that position. They are best positioned on the bottom.
-
Already done - what a doh moment. Just fitted mine to my wee and thankfully the right way up
-
Great, so the cbf trigger wire worked without swapping them back round then? Might be easier to change blown fuses the other way up
Yup, worked a treat, thanks for all your help.
-
Looks awfully similar to a product seen on another forum...
-
May well do, just about every auto electrical company sell the parts for it. I did want 4 outputs but could only find one with 3 in a neat little package.
-
There are other Forums?
-
Yes, there's one on vanping. It'll never catch on!
-
I don't know, my mate is trying to get me to go halfs on a shared van, that's one step away from couples vanping...
-
Gay Vanping forum coming soon lol
-
That's a whole different Forum Bigpie
-
Slow down, I've not agreed to it yet.
-
Yea, you should keep saying that to your mate :)

We managed without a van today, but Christ my legs and arse and killing and I've never fell off as much in a day.
A van might be a good idea.
-
:vanping:
It's the way forward :)
-
I am coming round to that way of thinking. You might be on to something here.
-
I'd like an aux fusebox as well please. Advise me on how to pay etc - thanks
-
I'm making another batch up this week I'll pm you when I have them done.
-
Bigpie - can you recommend a crimping tool for the barrel style connections you're using? I'm using my standard crimper but it's not making a great job of it.
-
This is the crimp tool I use for non insulated terminals.

Thanks blokes.
-
Finally got one of those after many years of bodging connectors, well worth the low cost of it.
-
I've'e had the same crimping tool for many years, it makes it very easy and neat.
-
I've made another batch up if anyone else wants one.

FlyingPanMan, PM'd you. Need to know where to post it for you. Please let me know as soon as possible.
-
Bigpie, I did pm back. Will try again.
-
Got it this time will post on the way home. Been bringing it to work daily incase I got a reply.
-
Got it yesterday morning. A very nice job with crimped and soldered connections of the proper motorcycle type. Great job, Thanks.
Paul.
-
Received with thanks, I will fit it on when I do the next upgrade, led indicators, dual output 12 lighter socket and repair cracked nose cone - picture will be posted then :old:
-
Great stuff. Got 4 of the current batch left and ready to go.
-
Being a smart arse and a tight arse, I thought I could use my GCSE in D&T Electronics to make myself a set of these.
Seriously... what it cost me in parts, time, solder, burns and the mrs complaining of the smell of flux in the living room I should have just bought the things from BigPie!
Took sodding ages to figure out a way to wire it neatly and the over an hour to make one, then another 2 hours to redo all the wiring on the bike to suit the new layout. :GRR:
In the end you get a nice neat bit of kit... but god was it a PITA to make.
Quite robust base with a few mounting options.
How you can sit there with your little production line going is beyond me. 2 was enough for me to do in one lifetime.
-
Got a bit of a system going, and I make at least 10 at a time, though it is a bit of a struggle to fit in my job, my software development business and making the electronic bits and bobs, general house duties, being a dad and trying get an allotment plot in to shape.
Luckily I struggle to be able to sit still and do nothing, but as we come out of winter I will be doing less of the electrical bits and bobs and I do hope that one day my software business can take over from the software job.
-
2 left now.
-
Cheers bigpie :thumb:
-
...I do hope that one day my software business can take over from the software job.
What's the software business, if you don't mind me asking, bp?
-
Mine? It is an online league management software mainly, but I also do a few websites for truck braking systems. The day job is library management software.
-
Excellent. I know which of those I'd rather work on!
-
Me too, but it isn't that one that pays the most at the moment.
-
May well do, just about every auto electrical company sell the parts for it. I did want 4 outputs but could only find one with 3 in a neat little package.
no may well do about it :neen:
now.. I wonder where he got the original idea lol

Here is a picture of the mess I inherited (apart from the Sat Nav feed) that I am planning to tidy up with my newly bought Aux fuse box (a thing of beauty I'm sure you'll all agree). Suprisingly I have recently had a lot of issues with the Alarm refusing to disarm which I think may be down to the iffy connectors (bits of rubbish)

I had an alarm on my last Strom best move I made was having taken off. Gassoon was having similar issues. Actually I got the idea off him..

I'm amazed every time I see that GW
-
Sorry GW, I still couldn't live with that. It's the gaffer tape. Bleh... Pre-insulated terminals (the ones with the red, blue or yellow crimped on ends) always look like a bodged repair that stand out like a turd on a snooker table at the side of the manufacturer terminals. I never feel comfortable trusting if the quality of the joint, as it is hidden under the plastic sleeve. Yes, I know it works acceptably and yes, I know I have mental problems but I feel better now as I can admit it to myself that I have wiring ocd! :)
-
Solder, solder, solder and heat shrink. Simples. :)
-
I was trying to win the prize for messiest wiring. I always start with good intentions but lose patience. The only saving grace is it's perfectly functional. The gaffers tape has nothing to do with the electrical stuff. The pouch containing the air compressor and extra tools wore through and tools started to leave so the pouch got taped over. An alternative to the ring terminal wire ends on the bus bars would be nice but that's what the local electronics store had that would work.
A series rectifier regulator wired to the battery through a 30A automotive circuit breaker, Rostra cruise control, Datel voltmeter, Warm & Safe dual heated gear-controller, HotGrips, GPS over dash mount, single headlight cutoff switch, relay and PC8 fuse block, Stebel horn, garage door opener, cigarette lighter type socket, earbuds with jacks wired to bike for Garmin Zumo 550, headlight relays, SpeedoDRD speedometer corrector, and a relay triggered by the brake light circuit that cuts off the heated gear when the brake light is on require a lot of wire and relays.
-
And you actually need all that stuff GW!
I'm particularly bemused by the brake light activated heated clothing cut off :)
After years of trying to make messy wiring look neat, I've come to the conclusion that the less stuff added to a bike the better!

When I stop at a traffic light on a cold day, I often get too hot as the wind chill goes away. I can use the front brake to control the heat without changing the heat control level which is correct when moving. I may not need all I installed, but I like having it and it makes my ride more enjoyable.
-
But but where do you put stuff.... Shocked face
-
Fair enough. Quite logical really :smirk:
-
I applaud GW for that - if I tried adding all of that to my bike I'd probably have a smouldering wreck in the garage. I think my wiring isn't too bad to be honest, everything works and it's reasonably tidy. Got space to add a few extra items with minimal effort if needed.
(Only got heated grips, heated jacket, aux socket and stebel snail horns installed)
-
But but where do you put stuff.... Shocked face
The area where the tool kit normally resides now has a Rostra cruise control servo, PC8 fuse block, Dynaplug tyre plug kit and garage door opener. It's the only place the Rostra would fit. The main under seat tray has the tape reinforced pouch with an air compressor, a socket tool set and some of the tools from the stock tool kit. The stock tool kit pouch with some of the tools is in the right side cover. If more room is needed, the luggage goes on.
-
Not the prettiest but functional like the rest of the bike.

Nice socket set! :thumb:
-
Costco. £9. I'd recommend it.
-
garage door opener
And do you actually open your garage door with this, or use it for the "other" function?
-
I actually use it to open the garage door. I also actually don't know what other uses it could have.

Anyone know where I can get a decent positive battery terminal cover from, mine is a bit tatty ~(see previously posted picture for the full horror that is my wiring ). Also I am going to dispense with my Alarm as it will sometimes disarm but mostly not. Unfortunately it has been spliced into the wiring loom and will need surgery to remove it. or a new loom might be easier . Any advice ? :old:

Part number for the Glee is: 33624-27G00 and I'd guess they're the same.

Here's my offering.

Disconnect the battery then trace the wires, there are normally 2 pairs that break into the ignition, fuelling etc., remove them a pair at a time and rejoin the existing loom wire with solder and heatshrink.
There will also be wires to power, ground & indicators, these can just be cut and insulated.
All the above depends on the alarm make, model etc., if you're not confident with auto electrics your local bike shop will have experience of removing alarms.

Anybody fitted one of Bigpies brilliant box of tricks to a different bike than a V-Strom?
Would make alot neater job on my other bike, presume just need to splice into a 'live' when ignition on? Such as tail-light?
-
Yea, cut the orange and attach to any that come on with the ignition.
-
In that case Bigpie put me down for another one when you have a batch ready. :thumb:
No immediate rush, still waiting for my 12V socket to come through. :GRR:
-
Got one left over, already made up.
-
Cheers Bigpie, will take it if no-one desperate for one for their V-Strom.
Just let us know when OK to pick-up.
:thumb:
-
Someone has pm'd for one but you asked first and I'm not in a rush to make up another 10 at the moment, got quite a bit on.
So it's up to you.
-
Cheers Bigpie,
PM sent mate.
:thumb:
-
I have one of these in the "for sale" section. It's still in the packaging that Bigpie sent it to me in, if there is still one person looking for one.
-
touchstone is looking for one. Attila2013 I think is looking for one + headlight relay.
-
Bigpie, understand a lot on, will you be making anymore in the future?
-
Same question from me. Pm sent.
Ta
-
I'd like one too please :) will Pm
-
Go on then, I'll make some more up, probably for sale after the tax year ends.
-
yeyhhhhh :lala: :lala:
-
Thanks [THUMBS UP SIGN], have sent pm.
-
If you have another bike then these are great as well, saves hacking your wiring to pieces, just fitted one to my VFR to sort an aux power socket and some heated gear.
Just cut the connectors off for the Strom wiring, find a 'live' when ignition on, (rear light), splice in and jobs a good'en.
Cheers Bigpie

I'll take one. PM sent (I think)
-
Posted yours along with the other 6 today. Expect shortly. 3 left.
-
many thanks ...may be in touch if I need help re fitting/ fuse choice etc as I'm no electrical wizard!
-
Not a problem at all.
-
bigpie,
Received today, will fit tomorrow, many thanks. :thumb:
-
Received mine today, with extra fuses and connectors.
Much appreciated bigpie, thanks
-
Got mine today. Very nice, many thanks.
Bigpie = top bloke.
-
Just like to add I fitted mine in about 5 mins max. Didn't need to lift tank, nimble fingers required but do-able.
Heated grips here I come (now the weathers turned nice :) ), also got plans to fit a louder horn and refit my running lights.
I have been running my autocom off the aux socket inside the fairing, 15k miles without issue so will leave it there.
-
Do you have any of the latest batch left? If so, I'll buy one. If not, let me know when you're about to make some more and I'll get my order in on time next time!
-
Thanks to Bigpie, fitted my aux fuse box this morning.
Good piece of kit.
Cheers. :ty:

Sorry all sold out now. If I get 3 or 4 more interested I'll make up another set.
-
I'm interested in one please! Hopefully more people will be too....
Getting all the metal work back from powder coating today, time to rebuild the bike and add some goodies :)
-
Can I get numbers of people interested if I make up some more?
-
I'm already a happy customer but would be interested in one for one of my other bikes too, a tiger 800. Do you do them with plugs to suit them too?
-
I'm interested Bigpie. Already sent pm.
-
Yes, I'm still interested :)
-
I'm already a happy customer but would be interested in one for one of my other bikes too, a tiger 800. Do you do them with plugs to suit them too?
I don't know anything about the tiger 800s, could use something like a positap on any switched live?
-
I'll do some research of my own. The rear light is a popular switch wire same as the strom but I'm not sure if the plug method that I like on the strom is possible.
I'll report back.
-
Just fitted my fusebox today - I know, I know, I bought it 6 months ago & only just got round to fitting it :shy:
Just wanted to say these are excellent bits of kit & really easy to fit.
Thanks again Bigpie :thumb: :)
-
Hello Bigpie, have you any Aux fuse boxes available at the moment? :)
-
I don't at the moment. I might make up another 10
-
OK, please can you let me know when you have another batch knocked up and pencil me in for one :thumb:
-
Do you know what "knocked up" means in American? I'll give you a hint.
A pregnant woman was crossing the street against the light in New York City and a cab came to a screeching halt inches from her. The driver yelled, "Hello lady, are you trying to get knocked down too".
-
Means the same here.
-
Could I have two from the next 'knocked up' batch please.
-
There will be another batch.
-
Sorry Bigpie, I should not have said 'Knock up'. Can you 'Bang one out' for me instead lol
-
Glad that's cleared that up...!
-
Lots of potential purchasers, so you need to "crack out a load" of them.
-
I'm up for a Fusebox from your next Batch please Bigpie. :thumb:
-
After a tough week of banging them out after work, I've now got 10 ready for posting. I'll be sending what has sold on Monday.
PM me if you want one, I think there are 4 people interested so far so there's 6 up for grabs.
-
Dropping some off to be posted tomorrow, PM within the next hour to get one posted with them.
-
Talking to myself a bit lately. Those who paid over the weekend have had your posted today. One held for the bloke with the funny name and then there are 3 left for who ever wants one.
-
Mine arrived today, many thanks Bigpie. :thumb:
-
Great, any issues give me a shout.
-
Mine arrived also..... :ty:
Away to Aberdeen for two weeks Offshore tonight.... :groan:
-
My two arrived today as well, thank you bigpie. :thumb:
-
Hello Bigpie, If aux fuseboxes still available then I would like to buy one. Thanks
-
Just 2 left now.
-
1 left.
-
Is this last one still available. If so, can I bag it please?
-
You have PM
-
10 more coming up in the next week or 2, some are already spoken for though.
-
I'll have one :thumb:
-
Hello big pie brilliant yes please I'd like one,as for the value of the fuses not sure maybe you could help I would like to fit Cree led running lights 125w actual power 15w and Oxford hot grips? How do I pay please thank you.
-
2amps for the lights and 4 for the grips would be my suggestion.
I'll put you on the list to contact when they are ready, hopefully next week.
-
Thank you bigpie :)
-
I'm doing lights and grips as well. I've got the 125W cree lights and Dr Bike 695 (4A) grips to fit. Bigpie - sounds like a 2A and 4A will suit me too.
Cheers
Biglad
-
Yep :D
-
Is this the connector on a 2015 glee xt for the switched live? It has a white/black and orange wires, I have disconnected it to take the pic.
-
That's the one.
-
Brilliant, thank you :)
-
Just been out to my 2013 Glee and I found the wire, and I reckon I'll be able to get to it by removing the right hand side panel. It was too deep to get at from just the top.
-
Shouldn't have to remove anything, wire hook? I'm mostly done with them so hopefully I'll get chance to finish tomorrow.
-
Yep, that's worth a shot... It was just a quick look I had- just wanted to make sure I could at least identify it. My huge shovel hands don't help when it comes to fiddly electrics though!
Sounds like you're making progress- good news!
-
Hello bigpie — any left in this batch? If so, put me down for one! Ta.
-
I'll check tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure there's some that arnt spoken for.
-
There's at least 4 available, PM me if you want one.
-
Well this fit a 2014 v strom 1000? I need something to connect my heated grips, tre and maybe wee side lights to. Thanks
-
I'm told the connector is still present, but I've no idea where it is so I cannot help with that. You are welcome to try it and return if it doesn't.
-
Veeks have the same connector under the rear of the tank. The wire colors are a bit different. White/green plus white/black on the main loom side of the connector and orange plus white/black of the rear brake light switch side.
-
Thanks GW
-
Just got 3 left now.
-
Mine arrived today- looks good. Just hope my electrical skills let me make a half decent job of getting this, lights and the grips fitted...
-
Just wondered — is there a clever way to attach a battery tender/optimiser type thing via this Fusebox?
-
Nope, the relay cuts the battery connection when the ignition is off, something like an optimiser will want to go directly to he battery
-

Cool; figured that was the case. Cheers!
-
PM sent re ordering fuse box.
-
I'll get back to you asap re postage to Thailand.
-
Mine arrived :ty:
-
Mine arrived today. Looks good. Now need to search through here for tips on mounting it and whatnot. Thank you!
-
Great. Please post photos of fitted ones. Anyone want the last one?
-
Could anyone who confirm this is the right connection for bigpies fuse aux on a 2015 1000 just looking to double check (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/03/0e8d8d8bad8256582cc8ccd2a35e20cc.jpg). Orange and White Thanks any help
-
Looks right to me.
-
hiya, I'm servicing my 2012 strom and going to wire in my Sat Nav and spot lights at the same time next week. I was going to buy fuzeblock form Nippy Normans (as I did for my GTR), but I think that's overkill, so I'd like on of the fuse boxes pretty please. :-)
Ps.. I 'may' include a usb charging cable for charging in the top box, but as the Garmin cable comes with a USB cable I haven't used it once on the GTR ...... yet!!
-
All gone. If I get 4 or 5 more interested, I'll make up some more.
-
I might be interested - need to see what the connectors are like on my brother's Versys
-
I'll register my interest for the next batch.....
-
Lights done if the feckers can see me now they shouldn't be driving cheers again bigpie aux fuse box worked a treat heated grips also wired through ignition (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/05/cd64382b3bc709d6829c90b4bf7ce045.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/05/2b33e533c6b256cc15ddc58f3f17d369.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/05/ab0bfc539a896ab0f0c6ae9d8b3be756.jpg)(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/05/6016a05f147187b80b8f84605f765d68.jpg)
-
Nice one, thanks for the pics. First one to my knowledge on the new 1000. I've got a pair of those lights coming.
-
Dumb question alert! On a glee, is it the same place for the rear light connector (for the ignition-on signal), I.e. Under the tank on the right? Can't seem to find it …
-
It's there, usually very easy to find. Post a PIC if you need help.
-
Cool. What colour is the connector and wires going in/out?
-
(http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/06/9b519b0be66447e9459d523c83bb80e0.jpg)
That's one half.
-
Cool! I definitely don't see one like that. The only two wire connector I can see is blue?
-
Post a pic up, maybe you need to poke around and move some of the wires around? Even if you have a 'Friday afternoon' bike it'll be in that area some where.
-
I've just made a start to mine (2013 Glee) and it was a bit tricky to find..
Mine is underneath the rear of the coolant tank slightly towards the right hand side of the bike.
To get to it I had to swing the tank support out of the way (take one bolt out, loosen the other and swing it to one side. There is also a bundle of wires which were tied together with a rubber cable tie. I loosened the cable tie to give some wiggle room.
The bodywork was a pita to get off...that took an age to do- conscious not to break any fixings or grommets..one or two might have suffered an injury but Hello ho. I've also dropped one of the tank support bolts. Had a quick look and a fish with the magnet and couldn't get it. I'll find it tomorrow when I can see in the daylight.
I've got the box wired up so I can start on the accessories. I take it the best way is to run the cables for grips under the tank? The lights will come in at the side panels.
-
that's me all done and the bike back together. Fitted the cree led lights and dr bike heated grips.. took me about 4 hours from start to finish but that's my first electrical job so maybe not too bad. Had some fun and games along the way but all done now!!
Cheers
Biglad
-
Bigpie,
Can I register an interest if there's to be another batch. Much appreciated
-
Well, that was a bit more effort than I expected! Finally found the connector — it was taped up right underneath the main set of cabling going across the front of the coolant reservoir — and after lifting the tank and taking the reservoir off its mount and getting it out the way, I got the signal connector attached. Got the pos/neg wires attached to the battery (along with battery tender wiring) and tank, reservoir, panels, and seat all back in place. Probably about 4 hours all in. No disasters!
Tomorrow I will attach the Oxford heated grips to the aux fusebox …
-
Good to hear you got there in the end.
Just reading you have put the bike back together; did you run the cable for the heated grips between the handlebars and the fuse box underneath the tank while you had the bike open? If not, I think the easiest way to do it is to remove the left side tank panel, loosen the bolt at the rear of the tank and I think you should have enough wiggle room to slide it in. The tricky point is where a rubber on the bottom of the tank rests on the frame.
I was messing around with a switch for my lights and decided to live with them being on all the time before changing my mind.. however this was after I had the bike almost back rogether which meant trying to get the cable in with minimal disturbance.
BTW, I had one black bolt left over from the rebuild- partially threaded, about M8 thread and 30mm long. There was only one of this type of bolt. Any ideas where its from?
-
Have you made more Aux fuse boxes yet
-
Got the heated grips in this evening. Struggled with the connectors ( hadn't used those type before and had bought the wrong crimping tool), and realised I needed a bigger value fuse than the supplied 2A ones and found some in the local garage which saved a trip across town to the 24 hour Tesco. Seems to work fine so thanks again for the cool product! :-)
-
Glad you got it all sorted.
-
Hello bigpie, what is the name of the connectors in the baggy? They look like Bullets — is that right? What diameter are they? Looking to order some more …
-
3.9mm bullet connectors
-
Thanks! Do you have a recommended supplier?
-
I get them in bulk. Try ebay or maplins? How many are you after?
-
It's cool — got a bunch off Amazon and the correct crimper too. I'll be a crimpin' maniac soon! Muwhahaha!
-
Arrived today. Well made quality product. Thanks very much.
-
Nice one, thanks for the pics. First one to my knowledge on the new 1000. I've got a pair of those lights coming.
Big Pie, I presume lights are CREE U5 lights - http://www.banggood.com/CREE-U5-Motorcycle-LED-Headlight-Waterproof-High-Power-Spot-Light-p-941300.html
Can you let me/us know how good/bad lights are and how you can bypass the mode switching?
Cheers
P.S. Aux fusebox is great - makes everything neater!
-
They are the ones, but they've not arrived yet.
-
Those lights look identical to mine, and judging by the questions asked at the bottom of the page, they are. I've got a handlebar mounted switch and each time you turn the lights on and off, it cycles into the next mode. (Hello / Lo / Strobe). Bit of a nuisance, but no real issue. Just before I switch the bike off I switch the lights on and off twice, so the next time I turn them on, it comes onto Hello beam. There's a link on a thread in the accessories forum about soldering inside the lamp to disable the lo & strobe modes, but given this was my first 'proper' electrical job, I'll leave them alone and live with cycling through the modes....
-
Think the strobe could be handy whilst filtering through traffic
https://vimeo.com/145288663 (https://vimeo.com/145288663)
-
http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/relay.php
-
The banggood lights was easy to disable the 3 modes. The circuit board in mine was labeled as tw-713h-v4 and I just removed the whole IC labeled U2. Now I just have high beam. I can post after photos if anyone needs them.
-
Impressed :) :) :)
Got it (partially) installed, it took me longer to find the connector it than it did to wire it in :-O
Needed to push pull wiggle the existing wiring. Also had to remove the reservoir briefly to give me enough room. Anyway, Sat Nav installed - I don't really like the wiring route (I've'e got a Cymarc bracket so the Garmin is above the instruments) so wire trailing down on the R/H side, not elegant but functional!!
Anyway, spotlights over the next couple of days and maybe red led bullets to 'use' the last connection on the fuse box.
ps the Sat Nav worked fine..... after I remembered to install the 2nd fuze - Doh !!
-
Any news on whether a new batch is iminent? I have been dropping hints to the missus regarding electrical additions for xmas...... :icon_wink:
-
I wouldn't say imminent, I've just got back off holiday. Looking looks like I've got some interest so I aim to make some more before Xmas
-
great! Put me down as a definite when you have them,,,,,, :thumb:
-
Buggeration!!! Whilst installing the fuse box I musta disturbed the wiring of my (dealer installed) cig charge socket wiring!!! Its always been a bit 'flaky' and I've'e had to fiddle to get the plug connected properly (usually mini tyre inflater.) Its also in a rather inconvenient place - so as I have already drilled the top plastic panel for the spot light switch, I think I'll pull it and replace and re-locate the/a socket to the panel.
Still v happy with fuse box though and all acc's fully functional :-)
-
I know this is prob now in the wrong thread...but the cheapo eBbay spots I added draw too much current cos there's not enough ummmph to power the heated grips if the spots are on!!!!
-
What heated grips do you have and which spots?
-
Dealer installed Suzuki oem when I bought the bike (Oct 2011, 2012 model). However.... I suspect that (like the cig charger socket) they might NOT be Suzuki!!!
lights were 'cheapish' £35. "Universal Fog / Spot Lights Ideal For Kawasaki GTR 1400 / KLE 650 / 1000 Versys".
to be honest - they are obviously from China, horrible mounting brackets, and I stripped one thread on the body, and I hardly did the nut up!! Also they are very big, so I had already bought some replacement LED spots from BikeVis in anticipation....
-
Hello all, how do I go about getting one of these aux fuse boxes. do I just pm bigpie, or just wait and hope he see's this post, still new to the site so unsure how to do things in manner that does not pee people off. Yes I am crap with electrics I will end up like this :angry-banghead: then it will be like this :bawl: so any help would be great. :ty:
-
Bigpie reads this all the time, so he will see this real soon.
-
Hello, I don't have any at the minute. I was hoping to make some more before Xmas but I'm a bit snowed under with work at the moment.
I do intend on making up another 10 as soon as I get chance.
-
Just to let you know... swapped my cheapo fleabay spotlights for some BikeVis LED spots, they work fine AND I can have the heated grips on at same time.
Also added some BikeVis rear red bullets to the third feed from the fusebox. All works hunky dory, so very pleased with the fuse box. Happy days. :lala: :lala: :lala: :lala:
-
I'll register my interest for a fuse box from the next batch please Bigpie
-
Hello,
Can you put me down for one on the next batch aswell please it would be appreciated :ty:
Kim
-
Will do. Hopefully get chance once Xmas is out of the way
-
Can I just ask how much are these now?
Any chance to help me fit as I am in Rotherham as well? :lala:
-
Was 27 quid last time. No problem re fitting.
-
Would like to request that you put me down as a definite buyer for your next batch, thanks! :D
-
I would like to buy one of your Aux fusebox's when you make another batch up Ta
Would it be OK to power a pdoiler up using this?
Cheers
Stu.
-
Yes, you would. I'll try make some up soon as possible.
-
Yes, you would. I'll try make some up soon as possible.
OK Ta Thanks for quick reply
Cheers
Stu
-
Here's mine:
Powers: USB charging socket, cigarette lighter socket and voltage meter on one channel and heated grips on another.
-
Finally got round to getting an order in for the parts, nothing has gone up so I can confirm they'll be £27 again this time. First 7 are spoken for, MotoGP, Rallymad, bigrob, kimbles, corkyballs, Gramps and AndyOnBass have first refusals. I'll Post and PM when they are made up.
-
Good news!! I'll keep an eye on my inbox!! :thumb:
-
Ditto
-
Ready and waiting .......
-
Next 10 ready, those 10 that expressed an interest check your inboxes. I'll make more if there's enough interest.
-
Thanks for the PM, money has been sent.
:ty:
-
Smidster68, bigrob, kimbles and Gramps, you have PMs. I'll hold on to them for you for a week then open the floor for others to buy them instead.
Thanks for the swift payment everyone who has so far, they'll be in the post tomorrow.
-
Hello Bp,
Put me down for the next batch please.
Cheers
RC
-
Will do.
-
All that have paid have been posted today.
Smidster68, bigrob and Gramps, I'll hold on for you until the weekend, then I'll turn them over to FatRat and RevCounter to have the option.
-
Picked mine up tonight. Excellent quality, well impressed. Thanks Jamie.
-
Hello biggie, put me down for one too please. If it doesn't fit my brother's Versys (still not looked) I'll just add it to the Strom (after all nine accessory connections isn't overkill...)
-
Will do.
-
Morning bigpie,
I would be very interested in getting one of these from you say around middle of March if you have any free then. You are only a short ride away so would collect and also ask you to show me the best way to fit. (I am not technically gifted) let me know.
Cheers
Glenn
-
It's plug and play, you can't go wrong, but no problem. If you bring your accessories too I can crimp the connectors to the cables for you.
-
Good man, Thank you.
Any time from beginning of March, please let me know when you have one available and I'll pop through :)
Cheers
Glenn
-
Hello bigpie, could you add me to the list for one of your aux fuse box devices the next time you are producing them please?
I'm still running my Glee in so not urgent but have a trip planned for June and would like to fit a Sat Nav and BikeVis bullet led's and modulator before then.
Thanks, Mark.
-
Arrived this morning thanks nice piece of kit
Cheers
Stu
-

Well bigpie! When's the next batch being rolled out?
-
I'll be making up more in a couple of weeks
-
Later than planned, but I've just ordered parts for the next 10. Mrp192 has dibs on one, anyone else that I've forgotten or that wants their name penciling in for one, let me know.
-
I'll take one please!
-
Right o, almost finished making them up. I'll send PMs when they are ready to be posted.
-
They are ready now. PM if interested.

You have funds
-
Could I put my name down for one?
What would shipping to Ireland take the total to?
Thanks
-
Veeks have the same connector under the rear of the tank. The wire colors are a bit different. White/green plus white/black on the main loom side of the connector and orange plus white/black of the rear brake light switch side.
And k8 Vee? Which one is it and what wire colours?
-
It's in the same place on all bike afaik, just under the back of the tank, possibly behind the coolant bottle if you have ABS. It is a white wire with a black tracer and an orange one.
-
Switched live is mainly orange for all other models (mainly white on the Veek only) with a green stripe feeding switched power to the rear brake light switch and white with a black stripe to the brake lights. The switch connects those two wires to turn the brake lights on when the ignition is on and the rear brake light switch is closed. There is another switch for the front brake.
-
Still got a few left from this batch if anyone wants one.
-
Arrived today and installed within 30 minutes. Have not connected anything to it as yet but maybe this week I'll see what I can plug into it and go for a ride to test it.

Hello Bigpie,
I've prevaricated for ages on this, but I've come to the conclusion that it's a cracking deal :thumb: (being that I'm too damn lazy to get the parts and solder them all together myself :shy: ) and if you've got any of your latest batch in stock I'd be happy to purchase one...
Cheers
David
-
Hello. Sorry all out now. I'll probably make up some more in a month or so. Got another project on at the moment, thanks to Earthcore. Building a electric bike for the little one, but after that I'll be making up some more.
.
-
A bit faffy, but quite pleased the way my little install worked out in the end. Sat Nav and usb charger all sorted with one space spare.
-
BP, could you please let me know when you will be making some more, I would be very interested in purchasing. Thanks
-
I'm also interested. When you have more, I would love a PM so I don't miss one.
-
I'll probably be getting another set made up in september, very busy at the moment.
-
I'm also up for buying this h/l relay kit , pls post when you have some to sell
-
I also am very interested in the fuse box. You might consider?
-
Hello,
What model/age bike are we talking when you say the connector is under the tank? I have a 2006 VEE.
Cheers,
S
-
All Vees and Wees are the same connector. From K2 onwards so yours fit just well
-
I'll be doing some more in a few weeks. I'll post when ready. The fit all years of Vstrom, 650 and 1000.
-
Interested when you have some ready.
-
Hello, do you use only bullet connector or can you use other type? The accessories are all switched, is it correct? I will connect the heated grip, cree U7 directly to your fuse box? in your opinion the brake light GIVI e135 will be connected to the fuse box or it is not convenient?
-
It has no way of triggering a brake light, every connection on it is live with the ignition. A brake light I would wire to a relay separate.
The connectors can be replaced with what ever you like. RC car battery type for example.
.
-
I'd be interested in one too please for a Veek :)
-
Parts on order. Will update when I've made them up. I'm working in the states until the 8th so it'll not be for a couple of weeks.
.
-
Hello, I would like one too, please add me to the list, looks a tidy bit of kit :) :old:
-
Hello Bigpie, please put me down for one, thanks
-
do you do these for Honda's too?
-
I'm sure that could be arranged. Just need to find a suitable place to get a switched live and find the matching connectors
.
-
Ready for posting on Monday, pm me for payment details.

Installed one on my mates Fazer. Loads of space under the seat
-
Arrived today, many thanks bigpie :thumb:
-
Installed mine a few weeks ago, had sat on the side for a few weeks. Installed it as part of a full service with the tank off etc. Think on my K7 it might have been a little difficult to reach the brake light plug otherwise. Works great, no more worries about leaving my heated grips on :D Have been suffering a lot lately with the loss of headlights and have to prod the starter a few times to get them to come back on. Will be giving the switch a clean/grease this weekend, hopefully that'll sort it for now but I think I'll be placing an order for a relay kit if they're available big pie? Cheers
.
-
I can make to order. Got a couple more to do to clear my backlog of them. Just pm me when you are ready and I'll make you one up.
.
-
Loz, thanks for letting me know. Any issues get in touch.
.
-
3 left of the batch now.
-
BP
Thanks for mine. Arrived safe and well and now fitted. Cheers
FYI the signal cable on a 2016 Veek sits under the rubber flap and on top of the abs pump. No need to go searching about under the tank.
-
Great :thumb: :thumb:Thanks for the info.
2 left.
-
Great unit ..great forum! ?.it's why I return! thanks and now connected to my Honda Crossrunner
-
Hello Bigpie

-
Great, any issues, give me a shout.
-
Hello Bigpie, love your handy work! I'm keen on purchasing one from you, I'll pm you shortly.
.
-
I'm sold out at the moment. I'll let you know when I've got some more.
.
-
OK, cool. Are they limited to 3 outlets or do you have larger options?
.
-
I've not been able to find the components to have more outlets. You could use more than one if you wanted more connections
.
-
Just a suggestion Bp, couldn't you link two units together with 1 relay.
Another option would be to wire 1 output into another say 3 or 4 way fusebox available V cheaply or just run 2 items off 1 fuse.
Not wishing to hijack just throwing some alternative ideas out there.
-
Hello Bigpie
I'd like one of your Aux fuse boxes please.
Cheers
-
Hello, unfortunately I don't have any left at the moment. I'll probably be making more in January.
.
-
Hello Bigpie
I'd like one too, whenever you make some more.

Bigpie,
Can I add my name to your list for the next batch?

I'll take one too when you are ready, no need for a white plug on mine as I'm fitting it to the S10.

Next 10 will be available for posting in the next couple of days, first 6 provisionally spoken for. This batch also includes free forum stickers.... PM or post for one.

The ones already paid for will be in the post tomorrow. Any one else want one posting tomorrow let me know.
-
Hello big pie one here please.
.
-
Mine arrived today, thanks Bigpie.
-
Great stuff. Any issues, give me a shout. Don't forget to get your stickers stuck on :D
-
3 left from this lot now.
-
Mine came today thanks Bigpie, now not wanting to sound daft but can anyone give me info or pics on where to place it I know there's a mainfeed somewhere under the tank but don't want to use wrong freed.
.
-
You should be able to see a connector near the coolant bottle, separate them and connect the white connector between them.
.
-
Thanks for that Is it best to do that first before the battery wires?
.
-
.
-
Thanks BP. Fitted my aux fusebox today, really simple even for a complete novice like me. it seems on the newer bikes that Suzuki cable tie the wires to the frame near the white connection that is required for the feed, it makes it a bit more difficult but still a fairly easy job. Connected to the battery, fuse in and usb socket live for charging satnav and mobile phone :lala: Excellent piece of kit would highly recommend. All I need now is some decent weather so I can go out and use it, maybe this weekend(if the weather people have got it right). :sunny:
-
Glad to hear you've got it fitted easily.
-
Thanks for mine. Arrived safe and well and now fitted.
Hello, do you have any pictures of where you have sited the fusebox ? I have a 2014 Veek and it's a bit tight for space under the seat.
-
Hello Bigpie,
Are you still selling these? What's the going rate?
Cheers,
Sam
-
Hello Bigpie - I'm also very interested in one - are you still doing them?
Thanks
-
Hello bigpie..I'll take one of these if you're still making them...
-
Hello
I'd also be interested in buying one if available.
Thanks
-
Hello. I'm sold out at the moment. If there's interest from 3 or 4 I'll make up some more.
-
Got my fusebox fitted last weekend. :lala: It's now performing its function to provide a live feed to the pair of Fiamm AM80S horns and boy do they sound loud !
https://www.amazon.co.uk/FIAMM-924648-AM80S-Luxe-Horns/dp/B00G2DMN18
-
I'm also interested and definitely would buy one
-
Finally got round to taking some pics of my aux fuse box. It's was very simple to install (and I'm new to biking and with zero experience of electrics!) and made additional accessories even simpler again. Below is my rather untidy (but not heinously so) example and the USB and 12v outlets I've attached through the box. I'm planning on reinstalling the outlets either side of the dash on the flat vertical faces of the plastic, where they won't interfere with the handlebars.
-
Nice work. I'll be make some more this month. Watch this thread.
-
Any info on current availability of BigPie's aux fuse box.
I'm interested in one for my new 2017 650
Graeme
-
I will take one for my k3 Vee if available
-
I'll get the components ordered this week and make some more up.
-
Hello, if possible can you put me down for one as well. Thanks in advance Jim.
-
I know this is kind of the wrong place to be posting this, but I'm finally taking the plunge and am trying to wire up my BigPie Fusebox. Thing is, I ordered up some automotive cable to connect to my accessories; I assumed 11 amp would be adequate, but the stuff I've ended up with (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321878307823 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321878307823)) just looks really puny compared to all the other cabling on the bike. I need the fusebox currently for powering a satnav, USB/cig charging socket, and some a pair of auxilliary running lights (and likely in future for heated grips.
Have I screwed up? :dl_smiley_banghead:
-
A cable rated at 11A (based on 13.8V DC) would cope with 150 Watts. What are you looking to run from it?
-
I use massively overrated cable on the fuseboxes. My heated gear doesn't even pull 11amps all together. You should be able to use that cable for most accessories
-
Thanks BP, much appreciated - I thought I'd checked my rating correctly but this stuff just looks so... flimsy. Anyway, I'll crack on.
I located the orange rear light cable on my Glee that I needed to tap into, but even having raised the fuel tank the plug was right down deep below the coolant bottle, really tight with no slack at all, and I could barely even get my finger tips down there. Is that normal?! Almost certain it's OEM Suzuki. I eventually managed to get the connection made, but it was really tricky and took me ages and much cussing!
Can I give you one bit of constructive feedback on the design? For the Glee, at least, it would be good to have another inch of cable between the inline fuse, to make routing that cable easier if you want the fusebox in the space by the coolant bottle, as it's a bit limiting (see another punter's photo at http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=24607.msg317497#msg317497 (http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=24607.msg317497#msg317497)).
-
I've got some now. With a longer wire between the ring terminal and inline fuse as suggested by Freddyfruitbat. PM me for one.
-
Fitted my aux fusebox today. Worth every penny and highly recommend getting one. Only issue was the switched live feed connector on my bike was buried deep in the guts of the engine bay. Once I'd moved the coolant expansion bottle out of the way it was just about reachable. Would have been easier with girlie hands, not the two shovels I was born with ;-)
-
1st class support as per usual !!!!!!!!!!!!! :obscene-drinkingchug:
-
Hello bigpie , have you any left mate , would like one , cheers
-
I've got 2 left. You have PM.
-
I will take one also if available
many thanks
-
And I'd like one too, if still available, please.
(Have just discovered that the heated grips are connected via a wire just pushed into the fusebox alongside the fuse )
-
I'm all out at the moment. I'll post when I've made more up.
-
Thanks, BP :thumb:
-
I would like one too :-) fantastic looking kit! cheers
-
Bigpie, could I add myself to the list for a fusebox :)
-
Would be interested in aux fuse box, have you any at the moment,
Cheers John.
-
I've none at the moment, but it looks like there's interest. I probably be making more up in a few weeks, I just haven't got the time right now, with work and kids.
-
I would be interested in one too
-
A friend has had one of these from you and I'd like one too when available please?
-
I would like one when you make your next batch please
-
The parts are in a box on my desk. I should be starting them tomorrow.
-
Could I be added to the list please, just bought my latest 07 wee and I'm starting to add bits.
-
Hello are you the man for headlight relay wiring? If so do I need it on a 2014 glee. I would like a set. price please plus post to West Yorks. Thanks.
-
You have a desk?
Impressive.
How are you doing as an entrepreneur, second million yet?
-
Well I do work for my self 5 days per week now instead of the 1, but it's the writing of software that pays the bills. Unfortunately the millions are way off at the moment.
-
Next 10 just about ready. Will be going in the post next week. PM me if you want one and I've not already PM'd you.
-
3 remaining.
-
Not read all of the posts, but this seems to be just the job. If you can tell me where to plug it in on a 2017 DL650 I'll have one. Just pm me your payment details etc.
-
Could you put me down for one please, PMd you,
-
Hello bigpie received the fuse box the other day and is now fitted with Cree foglights running off it, its great, delighted with it thanks again.
-
Nice one. I'm glad you are happy with it.
-
Not read all of the posts, but this seems to be just the job. If you can tell me where to plug it in on a 2017 DL650 I'll have one. Just pm me your payment details etc.
Heres where mine is connected on a 2017 650
-
Hello bigpie...
I fitted one of your fuseboxes a few months back - at that point it was just powering my SatNav - and I carefully stashed away the extra connectors you provided, ready for when I'd be installing some heated grips. Which happened today.
And as you've guessed, I now have no idea where the spare connectors are, so need to source some replacements! I know bugger all about automotive electrics and don't know if yours are completely standard items - I found these online, are these right? As in, will they just connect to your existing male and female connectors and sleeves without me having to rewire everything? If not - what am I looking for?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222547061088 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222547061088)
Thanks! :)
-
Those are what you need.
-
Thanks Bigpie - ordered. And countdown timer started for when I find the originals
-
Fitted mine today ... piece of cake apart from getting at the trigger (Brakelight) connection under the tank; like others, I'm blessed with shovels not little girlie hands!. But it's done, and the heated grips are working nicely. Auxiliary lighting's next on the agenda, and there are two "proper" feeds now available. Thanks, BigPie, for this useful and well-crafted item.
-
Hotbulb what have you used to fasten the fusebox to the battery tray? I was going to drill through the same place that's all
-
Following someone else's suggesting, having drilled a hole near the base of the tray for the cables to exit I cut, with a sharp knife (carefully!) a slit downfrom the edge to the hole. To fix the actual fuse/relay unit in place I used a small nut and bolt through another hole , and a couple of "penny" washer to close the slit - I may try plastic-welding the slit with a soldering iron later.
-
Not wanting to use up precious space in the underseat storage compartment, my BigPieAuxBox sits in the little space immediately in front of the bike's own fusebox, held loosely in position by a cable tie around both. Not ideal but works...!
-
Any idea if this fits the new DL1000AL8 ? and how can I order one.
-
You are welcome to try, I can't see why it wouldn't. I was going to keep the last one from this batch to double up on outputs, but I'll let it go if you want it. I'll pm you.
-
I've had a PM about a fusebox. Any more interest?
-
I am interested .. Recently bought a DL1000GT 07 (my profile picture) and currently my gps/intercom is wired directly across the battery, and at some point I will forget to remove the gps and get a flat battery .. Will it fit this bike and is the switched power supply easy to find ?
-
Hello Bigpie,
Yep, I'm interested. Will be adding a satnav to my L7 for an overseas trip so this will be useful.
-
Hello Bigpie
I could do with another one.
Cheers
Crazyhorse
-
Can I order one of these aux fuseboxes
-
Hello Bigpie
Did you get my request for the fuse box
Thanks
Cheshire cat
-
Components on order, should be ready to send out in a week or so, I'll post and PM when they're done.
-
Hello Bigpie,
If I am not too late to the party could I order one.
-
Almost got the next 10 finished, just waiting for one last delivery to finish them off then I'll pm everyone that's interested.
-
Many thanks Bigpie received mine yesterday .. Great service :thumb: Just need to fit it now .. Anyone has a photo of where to find that brake live wire on a 07 vee ?
-
add me to the list please.
-
I have 3 left at the moment.
-
Hello Bigpie. If you still have any available, I’d like one please. I have DL1000GT K7. Cheers.
-
I'm down to 2.
-
Bp, Thanks for your PM. I’ve responded to it.
-
Wish I'd have seen this before connecting the Sat Nav to the horn, and then cutting into wires for my LED lights, it all works OK but this is a brilliant idea.
-
Last one of this lot is heading to the Netherlands, thanks everyone. Next lot when there's interest.
-
Many thanks Bigpie received mine yesterday .. Great service :thumb: Just need to fit it now .. Anyone has a photo of where to find that brake live wire on a 07 vee ?
+1.
Is the connector on the K7 Vee in the same place under the rear of the tank as it is on the Wee?
-
I found the relevant connector on my Vee. It’s under the back of the tank and I was able to access it without unbolting or lifting the tank or anything else. I’ve now installed Bigpie’s fuse box. I’d post photos but I can’t work out how to do it. Sorry.
It’s a lovely bit of kit, but I’d like to waterproof it somehow. It needs some sort of tight rubber cover that can be stretched over it. A condom would work perfectly (!), but before I resort to that I’ll do some research for less risqué alternatives. I won’t push my luck by asking for suggestions!
-
It should be fine under the seat, Christ knows what accident investigation will think you're up to if you're unlucky enough and they find a black box in a condom.
Any more interested? I've had a pm, so if there's more interested I'll get some more made up. No condoms included.
-
As others have commented above and elsewhere, Bigpie’s fuse box is worth every penny. Good job, Bp.
-
Mine is all fitted .. The connector was so easy to find and didn't need to lift the tank to attach it ..
-
The Vee doesn’t have a coolant bottle under the tank (at least mine doesn’t) which probably makes it easier to get at the connector.
-
Hello. I'm interest in one of these. Just got my bike and want to fit some accessories.
Please let me know when you are making more.
Cheers
-
Hello mate can you do me one of theses cheers Colin
-
Jockflob, I cannot reply as your inbox is full. It's looking like there's some interest so I'll be making some more up as soon as possible.
-
Is this fusebox still available?
If so, I would also like one!
-
Jockflob, I cannot reply as your inbox is full. It's looking like there's some interest so I'll be making some more up as soon as possible.
should be good to go now

Cheers Gaz

Parts are on order, I'll pm interested people when they're ready
-
Cheers for the reply
-
I'll keep an eye on my inbox. Thanks bigpie
-
Hello pal
this might seem a silly question but what fuses do I need for the Sat Nav Garmin 390LM and spot lights
do I take the original ones out of the fused line and put them in the your unit you are going to supply or would it be easier for me to just pop down yours to fit it
-
You can use the fuses supplied with your accessories.
-
so the green wire switched live to my rear brake light can be removed eventually as I won't need it
-
Almost finished some more, PM me for one.
-
All posted out, 2 left.
-
Can I have one please
-
You have PM
-
Thank you
it arrived today gong to fit it tomorrow can’t fault the the time it took and the postage and for keeping me up to date
Thanks bigpie
-
Ill take one
-
Pm'd got one left at the min
-
Hello bigpie
Can you help trying to locate the wire I connect the unit too is it just two wires a white and orange colour as I can only find this one which is very tight to get too which is under the water tank
-
It's hard to see from the photos but it sounds right, they're easier to get to on some bikes and if you have small hands. Put the fusebox connector between them.
The wires are orange and a black/white. See https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-Brake-Light-Switch-for-2005-Suzuki-DL-650-K5-V-Strom-/391254890382
-
Hello all
I fitted the bigpie fusebox at the weekend to my DL650AL2.
The connection was tricky to find as it was the right beneath the part of the loom that sits beneath the coolant bottle
See picture below.
great fusebox Bigpie, thank you
-
Cheers I think it’s the correct wire bigpie and thanks for the last photo may help the wire is under the water bottle very tight to get at
-
All received thanks Bigpie.....yet to be fitted but looks a very smart bit of kit .
Thanks very much
-
OK fitted the unit all done a bit of a struggle but all OK
Now trying to fit Sat Nav wires plugged into unit done turn on power not charging but if I attach wires from satnav direct to battery it charges
I removed the 2amp fuse from original inline and plug into new unit nothing any help please
-
Gary, that fuse is physically too small for the socket. It isn't able to touch both terminals. Go to BMS across road from the big Tesco on Huddersfield road and ask them for blade fuses. They should be able to help. :fix: :thumb:
Don't forget to fit a fuse in the main inline fuse holder too. Your pic above shows you have no fuse in there. The inline fuse needs to be about 10 amp but the individual fuses from the relay need to rated suitable to the item it is feeding.
-
Hello Paul
This 2amp blade is from the inline fuse holder original wire so put this back in there get that but don’t know which blade fuse I have to put in the unit not good with electric
You still near me if struggling ha just seen your profile you moved

Sorry mate, I moved away last year. I would have been round to help if I was still over there. The 2 amp fuse in the inline holder will be OK for running a Sat Nav on its own. You will also need a 2 amp fuse in the fuse holder with the relay in your second pic.
-
Hello Paul lowest they do is 3 amp
-
That will be fine then. :thumb:
-
Thanks to bipie for this fantastic bit of kit works great on my satnav
Also thanks to Paul for the info about the fuses thought I just took the fuse out of the in-line and put into the new system drr
Much appreciated blokes
-
No worries mate, glad you're up and running. :thumb:
-
Cheers TP. Glad you're up and running.
-
I've already got your headlight relay kit installed Bigpie, electrics are a mystery to me so excuse me if I'm talking rubbish,
I have various things connected directly to the battery, must be half a dozen dif things connected :shy:
would this be what I need to do away with all the battery connections I'm also looking at fuseblocks.
-
Fusebox installed nice and neat, Thanks bigpie
-
Hello!
My Glee is need of a set of aux lights and heated grips (she was moaning about that this morning)... hehehe.
Bigpie, would be possible to get one of this fusebox when you get some more ready, please?
I believe it is the wiser way to fit new electrical bits to the bike.
Thank you!
-
No problems. I'm a little busy at the moment with my electric trials bike project, but I'll be making some more asap.
-
Put me down for one when you have them ready. thanks.
-
I still need one of these for my 2018 DL1000AL8 but I was wondering if can you make one of these for a 2014 MT-09 ?
Got a friend who is interested in swapping his extras over to a switched live so he doesn't drain his battery over night again lol
-
I'm sure BigPie will answer for himself, but, as a happy user of one of his splendid devices, I'd say that it can be used one more or less any bike - it's just a question of locating a suitable "trigger feed", for example the rear light circuit. BP's box is particularly easy for us Strom people as he's provided the correct connector to suit Mr Suzuki's wiring loom, avoiding the need to splice into existing wiring.
-
As above really. I don't have access to a mt09 to find a suitable connectior to make it plug and play.
-
I thought as much but its no problem I know where the rear light connection is and have no issues with splicing into it, so I'd be happy to buy a DIY fusebox without the bike specific connections plus another for myself.
-
I'm going to be ordering the components later today.
-
I'm going to be ordering the components later today.
Thanks a lot BP. I really appreciate you doing this. :ty:
My plan is to connect to your fusebox the Oxford Heated Grips, and the Givi Aux lights. Can I do it or should this go directly to the battery? :fix:
Cheers.
-
That what is this relay for :)

Hehehe. :thumb: Apologies my ignorance regarding electrical matters... :shy:
As all the bits working altogether will add a good load I was worried it could heat it too much :dl_hyperhysteria:
-
OK I might be going mad here :dl_hyperhysteria: but where's the pictures of this brilliant bit of kit gone ?, I'm sure that they were on page 1. I tried to show my mate a bit earlier, and couldn't find them for love nor money.
-
Don't know where the earlier pics have gone, but a couple I put up are here...

(you'll need to scroll down a bit)

I've just downloaded them and sent them to him. It really is a brilliant idea and everyone loves it.
Isn't this the best part of forums, helping other people out. :thumb: :thumb:
Oh yes, :ty:

Thank you BP. Money sent! :ty:

I've just found this topic and it all looks really good. Is there a suitable connector to plug into in 2017 650? If so, I would like to order one kit please.
-
Hello raff113, you might want to have a peek at this thread on 2017-on 650's...http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=32513.msg320888#msg320888

-
I also have the headlight relay kit fitted, should I keep it wired directly to the battery or should it be wired through the aux fusebox? I'm thinking leave it as it is.
-
Leave it as is, there's nothing to be gained connecting to the fusebox.
-
Thanks Bigpie.
-
Thanks Bigpie
-
Glad you went for it raff, it's a good bit of kit
-
Hello Bigpie, do you still do headlight relay kits for K7 Vees? I've just stripped out the faulty HID kits installed by the previous owner and reinstated the original Suzuki lighting set up, but I'd prefer to run the headlamps through relays. I've already got one of your aux fuse boxes installed.
-
I don't make them in batches or keep components in stock. I just make them to order. PM if you want one
-
Bigpie, I've sent you a PM (I think!)
-
Replied. Btw if anyone is after a fuse box I've got one left
-
Hello bigpie
is there one fuse box left from the last batch that I could order?
Please PM me for money transfer details if so.
Thansk in advance
Chris
-
Hello Big Pie,
I am interested in a 3 way relay box - I have a satnav, power outlet and heated grips all connected directly to my battery - and it's a mess.
-
Hello, I need to make some more up. I'll post when I've got some ready.
-
Quote removed
Can I order one please?
-
think I may need 2 as I have 5 outputs: horn (soundbomb), jacket, spots, satnav/phone and autocom/radio.....whilst some of these have low draw and I could double up but I want them separate....makes sense?
Any thoughts?
-
I wouldn't bother wiring heated clothing through a relay, just connect it to the battery. The idea with a relay controlled supply is you cut the power to the auxiliary devices when you leave the bike, so they are not using power when the ignition is switched off. By default you will be wearing any heated clothing when you leave the bike, so you will have to to unplug it from the bike anyway.
-
I don't have any made up at the moment. As TP says, I wouldn't and don't connected my heated vest and gloves through it.
I would also assume your horn uses a relay as it'll draw more than the stock horn and it'll only draw when the button is pressed so can go direct to the battery too.
-
OK, that makes sense....just thought with a bit of OCD and keeping one source from aux :) .
When do you think these (only need one) will be available bigpie?
-
I've put an order in for components and will be making up some more. PM if you want one.
-
Hello Bigpie,
Yes, I would like a three terminal version.
Please notify me when it is ready. I am away in Scotland on the bike all week next week but will be home the following week.
-
Hello Bigpie,
I finally got around to connecting up my Aux Fuse box. It seems to have gone well, everything works as it should and my hot grips and Satnav switch off when the ignition is switched off - result.
-
Nice one. Everyone installs them neater than I have done.
If anyone else wants one, pm me.
-
I've got 1 of these left then I'll be discontinuing them in favour of a new version that I'm working on at the moment
-
:eusa-doh:

Got to make use of the 3D printer I've bought.

-
3d printed beaks for glees? :stirpot:
-
There's 2 options available :haha: :haha:
-
lol lol
-
lol
-
What did you get yourself?
-
I've got an ender 3 and I've made a few parts for my electric trials bike project.
I've designed a pcb that's getting made at the moment with 4 outputs that's going to live in a custom printed enclosure.
I'm running out of things to print that are useful.
-
Nice enough bit of kit: I've got a Tronxy X3A for larger things (same basic Prusa design) & a little Malyan M200 that covers most of what I need.
I'm trying not to get myself an SLA one, but I do like the level of detail they produce and also just the novelty of watching something solid emerge out of a little pool of resin...
I go through phases of finding a rake of printing jobs to do, then they can fall silent for weeks.
Are you thinking PETG or ABS for the enclosures?
-
I've yet to play with ABS, sounds like an enclosure is needed to keep the temperature stable. I'm just using PLA for the moment but I think ABS has the properties I'd be wanting for this project.
-
I would give PETG a try: I've used it quite a bit on items I need to be more durable and/or flexible than PLA gives. It's easier than ABS to work with as well - just needs a higher temp & a slight nozzle height increase.
Once you have a design, I'd happily rattle off one in PETG for you to try to save you buying a whole reel & not like it.
-
I'll give PETG a go, it looks a pretty good material. Some of my prints have been a little too brittle. I'll send you the STL when I've got it finalised. Where do you get your PETG? My PLA has been hit and miss from eBay, diameter is all over the place.
-
I just get the PETG from ebay - I go more for the Real brand than a particular seller as I've found it works fine for me. PETG is less susceptible to the dry-out brittleness that I've found with some PLAs - it is basically just plastic bottles.
For PLA I tend to go to a seller by the name of sum2saday as he's reasonably priced and does click & collect from Argos which I can pick up from during lunch at work - saves having to go to the sorting office.
When you're ready, just drop me a pm.
-
Current prototype. Although I've already resigned the board and waiting for them the arrive.
-
I've got a couple of the new versions available for feedback before I start a new thread for the new version.
PM me for one.
-
I'm humbled and flattered that you've partially named it after me. :)
-
You can have a freebee if you want to help with a switched live I can tap in to. Can start selling them for asbo machine
-
Yes just what I need .... pm me details if you still have one
-
Hello Bigpie, do you have any of your aux fuse boxes available? I’d prefer one of your originals so I can clip it to the one I bought from you last year.
-
You are welcome to pop round when the builders have finished to have a "poke" around. The garage is in turmoil at the moment and the 'bastard is buried...I'm fairly certain the ASBO creators fit at least 2 switched lives, one under the seat and one in headlamp cowl.
-
Will do :D
-
Prototype fusebox installed today. Took the opportunity to tidy up the birds nest which was my original ad hoc wiring.
My only observation so far is that the master fuse hole needs to be slightly wider as the fuse doesn't fit properly. (I overcame this by shaving the edge of the fuse).
-
Thanks for the feedback, I'll update the model.
-
Hello Bigpie, do you have any available ?
-
Hello bigpie
Do still have any of the original ones
-
I don't have any of the original available, is it specifically the original you're after?
-
Hello a bloke on the Facebook v strom uk was asking were I got mine from is there a updated version if so how much are they
-
That must be the fella that has emailed me. Cheers
-
OK thanks for letting me know
In the picture above the thread is that the new version
Cheers Gaz
-
No, that was a prototype. I'm putting together the final version at the moment to take photos of.
-
Thanks I will keep an eye on the thread
Thanks for your help pal
-
In place now with heated grips and cree spotlights wired in. Thanks Big Pie, really impressed. No need to fumble under the tank on the 2018 Vee
-
Very neat and tidy install there Dean. TallPaul will approve. :thumb:
-
Hello bigpie I was asking on facebook gary lad put photo up of what you do I am in Sheffield and could do with one if you have any it`s for a 2018 v strom
-
I'm putting together the new version this week. I'll have some ready for the weekend.
-
:bow-blue: just let me know
-
Will the original model kit fit onto a new 2018 model vstrom 1000? is the same fitting on the brake light wiring?
I bought one last year and haven't used it but I might keep it because I'll likely upgrade if that's the right word to a 2018 model vstrom 1000 at some stage in the future.
-
Yep, 2018 1000 is no problem.
-
Hello bigpie, I have sent you a pm re buying a fuse box from you.
Cheers, Russ

PM sent regarding buying fuse box. Great looking piece of kit.
-
Replied to both.
-
Hello bigpie
I think I need one of your marvellous creations so that I can power a GPS from a switched live. Will it fit/work with a new 2019 1000 Strom?
I could do with a steer on how to wire it in! I'll PM you if that's okay? :)
Cheers
-
No problem. PM me.
-
New aux fusebox installed and works a treat. Great product thanks bigpie!
-
Tidy install, glad you are pleased with it.
-
PM sent.

Replied

I really don't want to be a competitor to bigpie but I bought a kit from him, maybe 2 years ago. As I am very lazy, never got around to install it and then I sold my bike shortly after that joining the traitors' corner. Now I have this kit, never installed, still in the original envelope, I just opened to see what's inside. I don't look to make a profit but I don't want to throw it away either. Any takers?
-
Who ever buys from the bloke above will get any support and warranty as if they'd bought new from me.
-
Not that any would be needed, these things work and just keep on working. :thumb:
-
PM sent :)
-
With a bit of trigger wire butchery  I have fitted bigpie relay fused outlets to every bike I've had since 2013. So they are not just for Stroms.
-
would one of your relays fit on a 250, as there is very little room under the seat.unlike the 650 were there was loads of room.
-
to be honest I've no idea, I'm not sure if anyone has fitted one to a 250 yet and I've never seen one in person. You are welcome to return it if it doesn't.
-
Hello bigpie PM sent

Hello Bigpie
Finally got round to fitting the Fusebox, it’s only been sitting in the garage
since I had hair......just need to fit the Cree lights now that have been sitting for a wee bit longer. Hmmmm need brackets now.
Great piece of kit ,Ta.
Hope all on the Forum are coping with the lockdown and all that entails.
Hopefully biking is not too far away, stay safe.
-
Hello bigpie aux fuse box arrived today fitted in 20 mins didn't even have to lift the tank. Great piece of kit professional standard Thanks.
-
Excellent. :D
-
Is it someone from here that received their fusebox with a big footprint on the parcel and a smashed case? I cannot find the message again. I'll be glad when I'm allowed to post office again instead of using parcel2go for collections.
-
I'm quite sure you are allowed to go to your local post office. I hope so because I have.
-
I didn't think so as it's not really going out for exercise or essential supplies, though the rules are so poorly defined I wouldn't be 100% sure.
-
Mmm,how do most “older” pensioners that have no bank accounts, pick up their pensions.
-
Duno but it's probably OK to go for cash but posting a parcel may be different. No idea what the rules are. I just stay at home unless doing click and collect at Tesco, or taking dog out to sniff lampposts.
-
Us”modern”pensioners like myself (is that an oxymoron?) just have it transferred straight into a current account.I only use my local post office for stamps and beer.(They sell packs of beer a lot less than the local supermarkets.)and they are still open, behind a big clear plastic shield.
-
Our local Post Office has two counters, one for Post Office stuff and one for stationery stuff plus sweets etc. Deb went to pay for her mums papers today and there were around 15 folk queuing for the Post Office bit and none for the stationery bit. It's not pension day so they must have been there for other Post Office reasons?
-
Ebay returns?
-
Mr Bigpie is working from home: surely "posting parcels" is part of that!
-
I've PM'd Mr Bigpie because one of those auxiliary fused relay boxes could be just what I need.......
:smirk:
-
Mr Bigpie has made and sent me the relay box - great bit of kit, thanks! Definitely a good thing! :ty:
-
:D
-
Hello - would it be possible to order one of these please?
Thanks
Nick
-
Nick, it would be best to message bigpie with your request.
In the post above you can click on the box under his profile to 'send personal message'.
Or click on his name (in the post above) and under his profile picture you will see 'send PM'
Also go to introductions and say hello. :thumb:

Just fitted Bigpies aux fusebox to my 2018 1000XT and wanted to share to help others. Very easy to install and installation standard comes down to your OCD levels, mine are fairly high. Harness that you plug it in to was under the rubber at the rear of the tank and wiring was white/black and orange to white/black and white/green. I put the aux fusebox under the existing fuses and relays. I also installed my Optimate socket at the same time.
The fitted Amazon LED spots are great quality and I removed the old Amazon spots as they sometimes had a mind of their own and one would start flashing.

Thanks

I note there are 36 pages on this but having only read a couple I am left wondering what these things do? They must be usefull and I must be missing out? lol
-
They allow you to hook up multiple powered accessories such as heated grips, heated clothing, aux lights, chargers, Sat Navs etc to the battery but through a switched relay.
That way your accessories power up and down with the ignition key.
No possibility of leaving an accessory on and draining the battery.
They're worth every penny, especially if your second hand bike already has one on when you buy it 😁.
On site bargain potentially available if you want one:

Wondering if these are still for sale? 2018 DL1000 if that makes any difference?
-
I think bigpie (of this parish) still makes & sells them.
PM him & ask. He was the first person to post on this thread. Just click the speech bubble under his profile picture.
-
+1 for Barbel Mick
I bought and fitted one a few weeks ago.
Accessing the connector plug under the tank is a bit awkward (ours had a tie-wrap next to it) but the rest is a simple job with great instructions.
