speed sensor/speedo fail.
« on: April 19, 2024, 16:49:13 »
Speedo and tacho failed. Went through all the usual suspects in my head then got down to fixing it. Just as I went to take the wheel off I noticed the cable being gripped very tightly by a tie wrap on the front fork. Cut it free, wiggled the cable around and took the bike for a quick ride. All good. So before you start stripping the bike down/removing the wheel maybe just give that a quick check. Cable will be cut and spliced with new section if it causes any more problems.

Thanks for sharing your findings. I wonder how much vibration / movement this electrical cable was subjected to, for this fault only to show up now after so many years.
Any pix to help point out to me exactly where this cable tie was attached?  I would like confirm that neither of my 1st gen Wee has a similar cable tie setup, that may one day cause me this failure that you reported? Call it preventive maintenance..
