Title: Cosmo GPS Navigation Bracket (thoughts?)
Post by: CharlieDeLaMoto on November 05, 2020, 17:38:22
Thinking of the Cosmo GPS bar for my 2012 'Strom 650.

Any comments on its quality and the company in general (seeing as it's not UK-based)?  I can't find a UK-seller offering one for my older model.  There's also a version from Portugal on eBay, so unless I bash one up myself I may have to "order in".

I can't comment on the Cosmo bracket but folk on here have fitted them and a lot of their other parts too. They (Cosmo) come recommended by lots of members.
I have the Cymarc one on my 2012. I found that it required spacers between it and the fairing to push it out a little, so there was a bit of clearance. It fits with the Givi Airflow screen too.

A bit of information in this thread about them.........................

PS go to the introductions and say hello too.  :thumb:

Thanks for the reply - I'm specifically after a "bar" so that I can mount my phone *and* a camera.

Yeah, I've only got the Sat Nav on it.
I did try a camera on it (a cheaper GoPro rip off though)  and was disappointed with both the vibration and the view through the screen once it got wet, flies or dirt on it.
The phone is in the back box!  :)

Just had a thought...that ball mount is bolted on, could you not make a bar and fix it to the bracket via that mounting?

Toying with the idea of having a crack at this myself, although I'd much prefer a nicely shaped, smoothly-rounded+finished laser-cut jobby!

Cameras - The Caddx Orca (ie: not a GoPro Session) was my intention due to the comparison vids on YT and it interfaces with their mounts. About 75 notes if you look in the right place :)

Update: I went with the Cosmo GPS bar - ordered Monday morning, in my hand by Wednesday morning so quite pleased with that. It's a sturdy item, so may now have to swap out the stock exhaust for something lighter  :haha:

Fitted without issue and now teamed with an UltimateAddOns waterproof holder for my S9 and a switched USB socket from Amazon.  I'll get a picture sorted if anybody is really keen to see what I've done.

I have the Cosmo one and I can say its well made and fits easily to the screen mounting screws. I use it to carry my phone as I use that for Nav. I connect a Ram mount B mount and a Ram mount phone to it

I get no vibrations in the screen when I am riding and everything is still clear...what really helps is being able to move the screen in the V Strom depending on the sun.

For the price I would say go for it
