Low foot pegs on DL1000 2014
« on: January 18, 2024, 19:08:35 »
Is there anybody here who has fitted low foot pegs to their DL1000 and can tell me if they touch the ground on maximum lean. I have a DL650 2012 too and something scrapes on maximum, or at least maximum for me, lean. It makes me jump resulting in wanting to ease off mid corner.

The reason I ask is because I bought a DL1000 a couple of months ago and although I've hardly ridden it because I'm out of the country, when I get back I intend doing some long rides and guess the low pegs might make it more comfortable but not if they tough down. Thank you in advance.  :thumb:

I have cosmo lowering pegs on my 1050. I believe the chassis/frame is basically the same,  someone with more knowledge can confirm. Very spirited riding in Scotland this year got rid of the chicken strips but the pegs didn't ground.

To me, if the suspension setting is too soft or under certain road camber conditions, it is possible for the lowered footpeg feeler to touch the tarmac during cornering.
The left hand side footpeg feeler on the underside of the footpeg, is slightly longer than that of the right hand side footpeg.  This I believe was done with a centrestand in mind.

I have the lowering plates mine, I think they hit pretty easily. I removed the hero Bob's and just fitted a cap head Allen screw for something to grind rather than my boots.  I now have the tall seat but like the leg room so I keep the lowering plates on.
