Screen Deflector/Extender
« on: February 23, 2020, 12:47:34 »
Rather than go for the Givi Airflow screen option I was considering just going for a screen deflector/extender. Has anybody tried these and know where to source them from?

thanks

Chris

can't get the link to work from this forum (works in word) but it's £20.50

Good luck but the Airflow seems to be the solution for most  :thumb:

I have one fitted and it works well. It has diverted the airflow over the top of my helmet now. I only paid £13 but had to assemble it from the crap instructions. I used threadlock on the screws so that they don't vibrate loose. Some have reported that theirs has fallen apart whilst riding but I'm happy with mine so far.

I have used the MRA Vario touring spoiler on both my Vstrom and my current bike. They work a treat. The Givi Airflow is very popular but when I tried one I didn't get on with it at all.

The screen deflector arrived yesterday. No instructions but fully assembled (with one piece upside down!). The screen connectors weren't sat perfectly so I fiddled with them for a bit. I suspect one had been fully tightened and then the other. Best to do them a bit at a time to even out tolerance issues. Anyhow tried the bike without and then with and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had the screen fully back (towards the rider) and it definitely made a difference. Pretty happy for £20. It looks just like a more expensive one. Just a clone I guess but seems pretty well made.

What with the screen rake and the deflector, you've now got about a billion wrong settings and two or three good ones. One for hot days, one for windy days and one to send the rain up and over your helmet.  Just don't forget where the best positions are once you've found them.
