Pilot Road 4 "Standard"
« on: May 31, 2016, 07:44:51 »
After a disappointing 5000 miles from my PR4 Trail rear I am going to replace with the PR4 Standard as I believe it has a harder compound in the middle of the tyre.
On looking online most of the main tyre retailers only sell the Trail version. Does anyone know where I can get a Standard 150/70/17 mail order.
They are great tyres but was expecting a little more than the PR3 I had that managed 10K.

I tried Opeono and they can't supply them.  Black Circles priced at £116 delivered.  ProTyre can supply fitted at £130 so it appears the standard are more expensive than the trail!

Wurzel, I have updated my profile to show Plymuff, are you from "down ere me ansum"? If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay?

Their website indicates they're in stock @ £94 http://www.oponeo.co.uk/moto-tyre-details/michelin-pilot-road-4-150-70zr17-69-w-rear-tl-m-c#112523325

I got mine from them (note Trail  version listed under 'r', Standard under 'zr')

Brilliant, thanks for the info.  There seems to be some confusion of what they actually hold.  This time I was told they don't do the trail but have the standard unlike the email that informed me they don't sell the standard!

Anyway 1 x standard rear ordered, I hope it lasts more than 5K  :thumb:

Think it was about £125 fitted, by memory, I'm an Essex lad, couldn't get away due to work load.

I just ordered a set of trails from motoblouz.co.uk. After 5% welcome discount and 10£ birthday voucher 147.50£ delivered. It seems they'll arrive in a week. I can recommend you and we get 10£ vouchers each if you pm me your email. To get your birthday voucher, when you register the account, put the birthday for next day, so the next day you'll get it and use it for the order. I think full price was 165£. So I think you could get 28£ off this way. Any guinea pigs?

My standard rear, (no laughs please)...seems to be holding up better than the trail one did, though it's easier to break traction in the wet when upright and on the throttle,  albeit being rough handed as a comparison.
