Pastures New.
« on: April 11, 2016, 09:49:13 »
After almost two years and 15,000 very enjoyable miles on the V-Strom the time has come to move on. Having recently moved to the North Pennines and to a smaller house with quite difficult access and having also retired (no more commuting) I decided  that I needed a smaller, lighter machine purely for leisure use. Enter stage left the new SV650. I looked at everything else on the market but I wanted to maintain my relationship with the delightful 90 degree "V" twin and nothing else came close in terms of value for money. So thanks for all the help that I have received on the forum it has been much appreciated.

Geoff.

Stick around and transfer to Traitors Corner. ( not much of a traitor with an SV eh?)
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

I thought long and hard about the new SV650 before getting the strom.  It looks to me like a nice bike, and was 2 grand cheaper than my XT.

In the end I went for the vstrom because I prefer the adventure bike style sat behind a screen & dashboard etc, but I am contemplating early retirement and the slightly lower weight of the SV appeals.....

Good luck & enjoy.....
