Honda GCV160 engine.
« on: April 19, 2014, 15:07:19 »
I had to buy a new mower today, my old one has finally collapsed after 9 years of service over and above the call of duty (aside from being a postie I also mow lawns for extra income). The engine has loads of years left to give though, it's for sale if anyone has a use for it, or needs a replacement. Maybe some of you engineering folk could use it to oil a chain or provide extra power for some footie ground floodlights attached to the front of your bike.

Yeah, been at it years, hedges and trees too. The mower just collapsed two days ago, I've welded the lifting gear up before but it's shot this time.

This is the current set, the new one is the Mountfield on the left.

I run two as the youngest lad works for me on Saturdays.

The Mrs just called me a "sad anorak" for talking about lawnmowers . They have no idea !
The new one looks a good bit of kit jacko , should last if looked after.

Aluminium base with a 20 year manufacturers guarantee, which won't apply to me of course as they do about 15 years worth of work in one season. It's properly rapid too, faster than the old one, I have to break into a light jog to keep up with it.

Should help with the bike's acceleration then, seeing as you're going to be shedding a few pounds :neen:
