Don't understand these two clips,  taking what is a 95% road bike on to trails.

The V Strom is a capable mid range ''adventure tourer'' but if I'd just spent £6,000 I don't think I'd be doing that to my bike especially with what appears no crash bars or sump guard.  :groan:  lol  lol  lol

But nevertheless the new Strom is a cracking bike. Very tempted to part ex my own 2008 model, but as I only bought her in May this year it would be a waste of money to chop it in so soon.

CS: got a new toy - got to play with it :)
On another note - struggling to find a bash-plate that I am happy with - there are a couple I have found online (a new one whose name I forget, and the old B&B one that fits with a different attach point) but they both bolt on to the engine, which I am not at all keen on.  The B&B did not used to attach to the engine one the old model.  Since it has been out in the UK longer than here - and is still not available in the US - has any UK outfit come up with a bash-plate for the 2012 yet that does not attach to the engine directly?  Cheers.

The only bash plate I've seen so far is this one:

and which seems to use brackets if you look at the installation details.

From those pictures, and assuming you have the same engine bars shown in them, you could probably easily modify the plate to fix to the engine bars rather than the engine itself.

Yeah - SW motech one was the one whose name I forgot - it probably would be pretty easy to modify to attach to the bars - I don't know why they have not done this themselves...
