Hello
Still nosing around for a screen which is a little bigger than the standard. Anyone tried the Puig one yet ?

Not me, but...
I bought a Puig screen for the KTM 1090. It was soft and flexible, the bolts and spacers were wrong, and when I'd made my own up, the bloody thing wouldn't fit anyway. Returned immediately for a full refund, Givi screen now happily installed. Perfect fit, taller, wider, quieter than oe.

Nope. I use an MRA X-Creen on my 1050XT, which I took off my DL1000, which I took off my DL650.. https://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/MRA_X-creen_Sport_Motorcycle_Windshield_Spoiler_Defelctor.html.
HPS are great to deal with too. (Had to order a replacement about 6 months ago after a pigeon went through the old one at about 60mph.)

@SimonW - thanks for that, yeah may try an MRA.....

@RustyNuts - I had a Givi Airflow on my old 2017 650 Strom which was 100% effective but humungous to say the least  ! I really like the look of my 1050 XT and would prefer to find something that kind of blends in a bit better. Will continue to hunt :thumb:

My Givi isn't an Airflow.... Normal style one piece screen but taller, wider, more curved than oem. Less noise, less turbulence, looks better, all fixings work properly. Unlike the Puig.
Your equivalent would be:

Bought that touring screen (3117ST) and fitted yesterday - took it off again this morning!
I'm 6' 2" and the screen is too tall for me. Looking through it rather than over it.
I had a couple of incidents with it yesterday evening that bordered on dangerous. Just into darkness around 9pm and rode down into a dip where there was some mist forming. Screen immediately went opaque as the water condensed on it - I'm suddenly blind! Same ride on country road there were times I could barely see the road. Verge etc. was really indistinct. It was like looking through a really old, thick visor.
Screen is brand new, just out of the box, squeaky clean... Now available at a massive discount if anyone wants it to try.

Have a Puig on my DL650.
Only downside is that on lowest setting, it is just a tad too high...
-
I have had great success with Puig screens on other bikes (2016 R1200GSA and Benelli TRK502), but looks a dogs dinner on a 1050 Strom. The D3117ST is fine quality but too high unless you are 6'4" and above. It is easy to cut down though and makes for a great screen when a little shorter.

Sorted the height issue of the Puig Screen on my DL650.
I was annoyed that I was always looking just above the top of the screen, even at the lowest setting, which strained my shoulders... Looking through a double tinted screen whilst wearing sunglasses was not good!
Even worse when 2 up. Just didn't see the pot holes until too late.
Decided to make some new brackets for the screen, and after a prototype that was close, I finally arrived at a solution that lowered the screen and also allowed me to angle it backwards.
Trying it out tomorrow!

Fitted a Puig touring screen this weekend (light grey smoke).
Works perfectly for me - the height is good for looking over the screen and no more turbulence hitting the top of my head. Really pleased with it.

I have recently fitted a Puig Touring Screen to my 1050xt and find it very good. On the lowest setting I'm able to look over the screen without any problem and there is no buffeting and very little wind noise. A real improvement over the original screen.
Cheers Ken
