2001 Suzuki SV650s
« on: August 13, 2023, 11:04:00 »
Now I have my DL it is time to sell my trusty old SV650

I just can’t ride it any distance with my wrist/hand issues so it has only done about 2k miles in the past 3 years!
Bought new by my partner in 2001 and then transferred to me when I bought her a Raptor 1000.
It had a new mot in April with no advisories
Just over 34k on the clock
Has a few mods done to it, custom paint job, TL1000 front end including 6pot calipers (that were rebuilt last year), billet top yoke conversion with renthal bars (tl1000 top yoke and clipons to go with the bike so it can be converted back), elka rear shock, genuine Suzuki seat cowl (they were like hens teeth a few years back!), Akrapovic full system with titanium can, bmc air filter, bigger jets fitted to the carbs, Oxford heated grips, rentec rack and detachable top box, braided brake lines all round

Has both original keys, including the key number and handbook. Pretty sure I still have all the tool kit as well
New tyres and battery last year
Also has a personalised number plate (S12SVS) valued at £400-500

Bad bit there is a large ish dent in the tank where I knocked it over in the garage and it fell on the wife’s Raptor! This is covered by a baglux tank cover thing
£1500

They are a great bike and I like them so much I’ve had 5 over the past 20 years!
The engine is the reason I bought the DL

That sounds like the perfect track bike for someone, fair price too. GLWS.  :thumb:

I had the later 'pointy' SV650 but always loved the 'curvy'.
I hear your wrist pain issues. Lots of owners put risers on the bars. I found it cheaper to force my elbows to bend :-) Great bike, great engine. Rode mine to Romania in 2006 and lost it on a tank-slapper on the Humber Bridge diesel-enhanced skating rink approach. A sad day...

I started getting Reynauds syndrome in my hands a few years ago and the clipons just aggravate it to the point I could only ride for about 30/40 minutes at a time. The bar conversion helped but still not great, hence buying the DL and selling the SV
