Nah, it'll be fine, my oil cooler was duct taped all through summer (did it before winter and left it on) and the fan didn't even kick in once.

Oil temperature will have very little effect on coolant temperature and a moving bike is plenty effective at taking heat out of the radiator. The oil can be overheated and doing a poor job and the fan will still not come on. To gauge the effect of the oil cooler being covered, an oil temperature sender would need to be fitted.

Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
