Beer goggles needed , viewer discretion ..

Not that I'm suggesting drink riding but this could be a serious contender for a drunk purchase.

This is a Honda Helix 250 , I get to work on the best bikes ...  lol

That looks awfully long. On reflection, so does that sentence.

That looks awful.

Sorted.

Honda stores section: we've got these excess scooters and a pile of snowmobile parts cluttering up the warehouse.

Unlike my old Burgman they have managed to get the seat down low in the best "Feet Forward" tradition.  Being a Honda it will be a tedious ride, it will run reliably forever or until one expensive and unobtainable component fails. It is very a very 1960's styling though.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Those 3 wheel things are still around in Greece.
The Nexus was called a Spacy in the UK, I vaguely remember them but not that colour.

I actually prefer the no-frills commercial vehicle version.

I bought a minter several years ago just for a laugh really. The chap I bought it from was a British scooter collector and has written a book about them. His collection is kept at the Haynes museum. It was pretty awful to ride. They have a bit of a cult customisation following in Japan.

Looks like something out of Battlestar Galactica  lol

My thoughts exactly :), definitely 70's 'futuristic' styling - though these days you have to qualify that with a 'the original' Battlestar Galactica, as there's been a fairly successful remake in recent(ish) years.

I will say one thing for it though - as fugly as it is, it's representative of a time when companies seemed to take more in the way of risks with design and styling.

How similar do today's 'mid sized' ADV bikes look? - I mean, I love 'em, but if you put the Tiger 900, Multistrada 950, BMW f900xr, Versys 1000 and probably half a dozen others in a line, how different are they?  Obviously part of that is ergonomics, but the rest?

They all seem to be creeping closer to some kind of 'ideal' shape (as dictated by...something or other determined by some overpaid focus-group marketing wallas) at the end of which they'll move the goalposts again because someone else has proved conclusively in another random study that facing backwards is healthier...

p.s. that's not a beak, that's the mother of all nosejobs :)

p.p.s. The Honda CN250 is a scooter introduced by Honda to the United States market in 1986. It was marketed in the US as the Helix and in other parts of the world as the Fusion or Spazio. It was so successful that, as of 2009, it was still in production in Japan. Wikipedia... (yes, Japan is now officially a part of the great kingdom of Wikipedia)

Spazio!!?  lol  Just about says it all, doesn't it  [I know - that's very one-pc of me, but what the hell - I'm of an age where people used to be allowed to find the humour in that kind of thing without fear of being shamed by all the snowflakes - and I'm an immature bastard to boot   That said, I mean no disrespect to any disabled persons reading this]
