Met up with my mate on his BMW R1200 and rode through Essex, Cambridgeshire, suffolk, & Norfolk to Hunstanton.

There were lots of bikes there, we had a coffee and a walk about then headed back stopping on the way back at walkers snacks in mildenhal for more coffee and cake (not me being diabetic 😩)
We headed off riding through saffron Walden, Thaxted, great dunmow, on to Barnston, & Ford end ( where they had laid the road dressing loose chippings a real danger to motorcycles  :icon_batterup:)
A brilliant days riding 227 miles and I was out for 7.5 hours I know this for sure as I was told by my wife do you know how long you have been out  lol

KTM 390: yesterday I fitted a satnav mount and connected the mount to the nicely placed accessory plugs under the seat. Today the KTM took me to Great Yarmouth and back for 167 miles. The good news is ... the not forecasted rain only wetted me for the first twenty five miles. So that was OK.

Wasted yet another Sunday following the gent below all over the North Pennines AONB. 300 miles with only a bacon buttie, enormous Hemmel Cafe burger and Brymor ice cream to sustain me. I don't know how I survived.
Massive thanks to TLP for the route planning, some astounding scenery and epic roads.
A minor highlight was Richmond. While passing a packed beer garden on a slow roundabout, with my Neotec flipped up I shook my fist at the assembled England crowd and shouted " FORZA ITALIA!!"
How they chuckled.

You forgot the toasted cranberry teacake in Hawes.  :smirk:

Epic day mate. :lala:
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Also envious of the weather you had, was dour and grey in the Peaks yesterday.
Looks like you made it back in time for the match as well...

Some years ago I had a look round a working windmill ( might have been Soham). The engineering/ design almost all done in wood by carpenters  was a wonder to behold.

Yeah but no but even I'm not that old.
Not sure in these covid times but maybe look into something like this.

WOW.

Just WOW.

Those gears really are a work of art especially the bevel drive. My initial thought was lubrication but then I realised that flour is an excellent lubricant and it's readily available.

I've never been in a Windmill, it's now on my list.

Busy evening.

Refitted the swingarm and wheel after I changed all the bearings last night with the help of a mate with a slide hammer.

Fitted a new shock tube as the Varadero doesn't have a crud flap to protect the shock.

Cleaned the rear caliper pistons and fitted new pads,
Fitted new EBC wavy front disks,
Cleaned all the caliper pistons
New front pads
Bled the brake system

Test ride proves she's running sweet as.

Just needs an oil and filter change and she'll be ready for a few more miles.
Oh and a wash she's filthy and covered in greasy finger prints... let's just say there was no spairing the grease tonight.

Knees hurt,
Back husts,
Wallet hurts.
