The Ravtech arrived yesterday so excellent delivery time, it comes pre fitted with rubber grommets and studs so it was fairly easy to fit, just removed the Givi Airflow which was on the top fittings and put the Ravtech on the middle set of holes. It fits perfect and is a quality item with the Vstrom logo lazer cut in the middle.

Hi Alan that's strange I didn't have any charges to pay, I'm sure they make up the rules ad hoc  :)

They opened the packet, looked at the ###  bill, added VAT and an extra £8 for all their hard work.   ###

You think that is bad, my sister posted a new boxed ghost s camera from America with a few bits for a birthday present. They opened the box, valued everything and wanted £400. Ofcourse I could reject the charges and they would send them back to the states and charge her for the return shipping.

Generous sister.

I once had to collect a customs fee for a birthday present from Portugal, all wrapped up in "Happy Birthday" baby boy paper. It was quite clearly a load of cartons of cigarettes. Customs people get to have a feel for certain "gifts." Many make it undetected due to sheer volume of parcels. Importing goods costs when done legitimately. Dealing with Customs charges incurred by shoppers costs Royal Mail time and money. We have to pass that on to the importer who has either not done their homework or decided to chance it. Some you win, some you lose.
