A month's worth (or more) of rain has fallen in 24 hours.......... An exaggeration used to amplify the seriousness of what is usually a fairly local event.

First of all a month is not a unit if volume and the month is not precise in length either. It gets rounded up anyway. We don't know if it's ony 'two and a half' weeks worth....really.

Which month? If you want to say the usual amount of rain for the whole of July then that might not be a lot. If all of November's rain fell in July then that might be a lot.

Over what area? Just a village or town?

The point being is it's only a problem if it's flooded the habitat we've put in it's way, sealed up surfaces and reduced enormously the free flow of rain water just doing what it normally does, running downhill.

Keep up the sensationalism, forget who's to blame!

Vague wording in the owners handbook for "running in"

Don't labour the engine - How much throttle in each gear might be useful here.
Don't use full throttle - Well then, what percentage 50%, 75% 95% give me a clue.
Don't use excessive speed - Give me a percentage of maximum engine revs - throttle
Don't drive for long periods at a constant speed - Define "long period" in distance and time and do they mean RPM? or MPH?
According to some handbooks every single nut and bolt and fluid level must be checked before every ride - Pah!
Lubricate the drive chain evey 150 miles - on a 350 mile trip it would be posible if they had designed a bike with the capacity of stowing anything bigger than a sim card.
Their description of the required petrol as "Super unleaded RON95" threw me somewhat. I think that is just ordinary unleaded in the UK

Normal unleaded is 95RON, super is (V Power etc) is 99.

Hair started to look a bit whispy round my ears. Out with the Babyliss hair trimmer and I decided to cut it right back. Half way through I thought the battery might die. What a wheeze that would be. The battery was OK . However the plastic lugs that cause the blade to oscillate decided to turn into tiny fragments, the buzzing got very loud and then stopped.

It was 9.30 p.m. I'll have to don a cap and visit Argos in the morning or walk around looking like an almost bald version of that bloke from the Human League.

Could have been worse: an old friend of mine used to have a battery shaver that went flat on him mid shave one day and caught a load of hair in it as he only shaved every other week. It had a good hold and was too painful to get off so he had to go to the local shop with it still attached to his cheek... He switched to mains powered pretty soon after for some reason.

Moan to myself, 'Puncturesafe' only works if you have it inside your tyres. Having it on a shelf in the garage while you wait to get round to the job isn't clever. According to my back tyre.

Yes it does work if you put it in after the flat... I've done it a few times for customers... most of them said later that it worked and still riding it weeks later.

Doesn't help if you're at the side of the road and it's on the shelf in the garage.

Re my 765 Street Triple R.
The rider's seat hides the fuses and is held in place with a Torx bolt.
Triumph in their wisdom only supply hex keys and a phillips / flat head driver combo.

I see Channel five are going to stop making programmes based in Yorkshire. I really liked that "Our Yorkshire Farm" so I'll be sad to see that end. I'm sure it got some thick heads from around the country to see Yorkshire folk as almost human like us. So then ..... where should they go next? "The Black Country" maybe. Nobody from anywhere else has a clue what that lot are saying and us cultured southerners would need subtitles so that could pad a 30 minute programme to 45 minutes. What do you think.
