Title: New seat !
Post by: 2112 on February 03, 2014, 14:03:32
I've had my original glee seat altered by the fine folks at Saddlecraft in South Shields
( http://www.saddlecraft.com/ (http://www.saddlecraft.com/)). It has been made wider at the front, has had a gel pad fitted and is about 30mm taller than a stock glee seat - all for a very reasonable £150. I've not used it in anger yet but a quick sit on it in the garage and it's going to be superb. Consequently my 'as new' tall touring seat is for sale - £100 to your door (last picture)

Looks pretty damn good mate. Got me thinking now (and that's seldom a good thing... )

 lol  lol  lol

I'm really pleased with the workmanship, real tidy and neat, I picked a fairly restrained design with a silver/grey contrast stich. I thought the cream Ostrich hide looked a bit OTT. The extra work done re-shaping the front has made a big difference with a lot more 'seat' to actually sit on, if you know what I mean. It isn't dwarf friendly as the extra width does make it a bit of a stretch to the ground as it splays out Your legs a bit and it's taller than even the tall touring seat option. I'm a 33" inseam so it'll not be a drama. I noticed he had a Triumph seat in today that must have had fully 2" removed from it for the owner, with a gel pad inserted to keep up the comfort. As a note they do mail order too  :thumb:

2112,

The seat looks great and I would like to get mine done.......before I do, if you could you could bang out a 400 miler and give us a full review, that would be much appreciated  :)

My next 400 miler isn't scheduled until the back end of May, but I will update when I get some miles on it  :thumb:
