Title: Travel Insurance

Hi all.
I am planning a trip to see the WSB in Germany, with my lad.
I'm looking for travel and breakdown insurance, only going for about four days.
Any recommendations of who to get a quote from and any to avoid.

With regard to travel cover, make sure and get in writing that you and your son have the cover you need whilst riding a bike. Many companies specifically exclude motorcycling and those that do sometimes have engine capacity small print limitations as well. If you haven't already got them get yourselves EHIC cards. These will get you health cover and if you do have to pay anything you will then get reimbursed back in the UK. What they don't give you is emergency transport back to the UK, which proper insurance will cover.

Travel insurance is relatively simple.. I use the Post Office travel insurance, as I know they cover for motorcycle riding of any cc and Royal Mail employees get staff discount.

Breakdown cover for 4 days in Europe might prove a bit tricky though.. I guess, because you're asking, you're not covered by any breakdown included in your insurance..? If not they may be able to tack it on for the remainder of the term for less than you'd pay for cover from a breakdown company..

Travel cover is much easier to come by than the breakdown cover, I know Suzuki give breakdown cover abroad with the warranty of the bike and that gets provided by AA for a year , perhaps they will do it. I seem to remember Suzuki offering a discount of some sort to owners but probably just for new bikes.
