AAARGHH ! Election time
« on: April 06, 2010, 07:42:53 »
The 2010 General Election - it's only just started and I'm sick of it already ! Picture the scene, you come home from a hard day at work and can't get the door open for the 30 acres of processed rainforest, covered in political clap-trap on Your doormat. You sit down for your tea the little lady (or feller) has lovingly prepared and the doorbell goes. On the doorstep is your local MP, followed 10 mins later by your local wannabe MP, and another... To escape you put the telly on but, oh no, the programme you wan't to watch has been replaced by a party political broadcast by a party you've never heard of and aren't represented in your area. Lets hope the weather picks up so we can get out on the bikes and away from it all ! Billy Connolly was right after all...  :neen:

Whoever you vote for, a politician always gets in...

Mind you, no-one has ever knocked on my door.  Although Davey Boy Cameron does seem to write to me every week...

At least they bother where you live we get nothing. Except for a leaflet from a Labour bloke who says we should vote for him "because he lives in the constituency" and, er, well, that's it really.

It would be really great if this board was kept completely free of any political opinions about the upcoming election......

That's not a bad policy, doesn't commit to too much apart from residence, saves the endless reams of lies, I'd go for that  :thumb:

I was first able to (legally) vote in 1979. Daubed on a bus shelter at the time was 'Don't vote, it only encourages them!)
