Beowulfs......
« on: June 26, 2009, 15:41:54 »
They arrived today and took about 45mins to fit.

Before

During

After

Not sure I like how the hanger hides the logo, I can see why somepeople turn them around.  Also, now the rear footrest hanger only has 2 instead of 3 bolts holding it in.

Over all they are MUCH nicer than the OE.
They are loud with the baffles in, and I mean loud.  God knows what they are like with the baffles out, don't think I want to find out either.  I'm not going to be popular in the early hours!!! :pin:

I think that if you add the weight of both new endcans and the pipes to connect them together they are still lighter than ONE of the OE pipes, they are sooooooooo light! :lala:

Overall, so far, I'm impressed :thumb:

the 3rd frootpeg mount you're on about is purely an exhaust hanger mount..
it has no bearing on the strength of the peg!

no you must have them on upside down and back to front  :haha:

yes they do I supose its the same cans for alot of bikes and they just stick the logos in the same place is abit annoying but I wonder how long they will stay on as we use all year round or how hard to remove it

Maybe you can hide the logo by swapping the left and right side cans around. The logo will be on the inside, but it might look better(?) That is unless there is a logo on both sides of the cans in which case swapping them is pointless :-)

I like the logo and want it displayed but the hanger hides it too much, if I turn them round there will be no logo at all which is a bummer................  anyone know if there are different hangers out there??????????

I can do you a good deal on a couple of coat hangers but they might rattle on the exhausts and cause a vibration so stick with the original ones I don't think there is any where else or way to mount them

They are etched into the pipes so no way of moving them, I was chatting with Eric T. V. at work and he suggested moving the bracket down the pipe with a small link.  Might give that a go.

After a few days riding with them on I have noticed a difference.  The bike 'breathes' a lot better, less engine braking and 6th gear more responsive.  Oh and did I mention they were LOUD!!!!

I hung mine the 'wrong way around' to hide my logos.

Look great in black! I with my carbon cone ended ones came in matt black too.

Enjoy!

I have the same cans on my bike, the second set that Beowulf made for the Strom.I have tried them with and without baffles- it makes no difference to the sound. There is no way these cans are legal! I have had the FI reprogrammed with a Teka box,and the bike is now runninig nicely. Not sure why your logos are covered by the straps- they aren't on mine.Just realised-I think you have the shorter, stubby can.
