After a casual mooch down to Birmingham the other day, I decided to drop into the NEC where there was a Camping/Motorhome show. That was a bloody expensive diversion
I pick this new shiny Auto Trail (http://www.auto-trail.co.uk/model/tracker/rb) up in June, I have to wait a while because they are making some alterations to the layout for me as it comes off the production line.

lol
Getting closer to the prediction I made on your final Rat Mobile

I have a Wurzelmobile I made over the last year, not up to your specs, but it keeps the rain off, has solar power and a cosy stove, so good for off grid, I also fitted a good stereo system, fridge and loo with shower, sink and hob.
The wood came from partly from a tree I had to remove in my work, home milled and moulded.
Cost in total is well under eight grand with a 2010 van base.
-
Another pic.

That's a really nice job :thumb: It never ceases to take my breath away when I see some of the prices of the converted vans. If I had the skills there would definitely be a business venture.
This is an example of a disgusting colour and an extortionate price. £37,000

Wurzel,
Your Van needs a 'Vanping' sticker, PM me your address :thumb:
-
I think there is the oportunity to produce and sell, it takes time to build one, but the profits are there for a bespoke build to order, I was under orders to get one sorted out, and enjoyed the process imensely.
-
Did you photograph it as you went? I'd like to see that.
-
Will do, and I feel privileged. :)
-
:text-worthless:
-
The powers that be, Silly Sally did take some, I shall see if she still has them. :)

Would that be Aunt Sally? I bet she blames the Crow Man.
-

-
Very nice mr rat,did you already have one or is this your first ?
-
"The wood came from partly from a tree I had to remove in my work, home milled and moulded."
What a casual way to describe the amount of skill and labour to go from tree to that! Must have been very satisfying when finished. Top job.
-
@ASmith - We have had them for years, since the kids were really young (eldest is now 26).
This is the Ratmobile Mk3 making way for the new one http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=25715.0

Heh! probably not. Innocent times.
Didn't he do 'Rusty Bolt' as well? So change your name to Rusty Bolt Hole - what could possibly be wrong with that?

Wow! Watch out for the tail end swing on that one!

There is a bit of a overhang isn't there :smirk:
-
That's huge.

Will that fit in the Motorhome shed?
-
It's only 3 feet longer than the last.
-
Should be able to just squeeze it in then
