New DL1000 owner, NE London
« on: June 10, 2015, 11:19:36 »
Hi All,

By way of introduction, I got into biking when living in the US in the early 90's. Passed the test over there and rode a Klr650 for a few years. Stopped riding in around 95 and then decided earlier this year to take the test here.

Been looking at a few models but my DAS instuctor had a new DL1000 and let me have a go on that. Loved it. Passed Mod 2 on Monday and picked up an ex-demo (7 miles on it) white DL1000 Adventure yesterday in Grimsby. Ran it back mainly off A roads, running it in. Managed 200 miles yesterday, looking forward to getting it up to 600 miles and the first service.

First impressions are great, especially those brakes which are a world apart from what I rode before. As I am 6'5", buffeting was a problem so ordered the Givi screen after reading the exhaustive threads on here. This forum has been a huge help in helping me select a bike. Thanks all.
