Hi everyone. I am brand new to biking and bought my first bike this march (the day after I passed my test). Although I learnt on a Bandit, I went to several bike shops to look at what was available and just out of interest sat on a V-strom and fell in love with the feel of it. My first ride was 180 miles bringing it home from Oxtord and I didn't want it to end. I can not believe the freedom you get when your out on the road and I find myself traveling on routes that I'd never thought of travel on before. I also can believe how other riders will stop to give help or advice.
I am discovering an amazing life style and also the very strange Phenomenon of time disappearance. It seems as I look forward to every moment I can get to be out on the road, this also leads to me being told I've been missing for hours. Is this a new event it time transferance or has my bike got magical powers.......Does this happen to anyone else?
Question : Is there a point at which I'll meet myself coming back and therefore find time standing still.  Any suggestions to my dilema.

Hi Sabre415 and  :welcome:

Yes, time can go by very quickly when you are out and about.

Add your location in your profile in order to benefit from planned ride-outs or help from neighbouring owners. 180 miles from Oxford could be anywhere !

My good lady sometimes remind me that I said I'd be out for a "quick ride". I usually tell her that it was "quick", just not by her definition

Take it easy.

Hi and welcome to biking, you picked a good bike, it will look after you while you're learning and carry you and your stuff all over Europe and beyond should you so wish.

Great first bike! Most other bikes you ride after the v strom will be uncomfortable and impractical by comparison ! (Just done this in reverse over 6 years) and ended up with one. Very chuffed indeed! Welcome
