Potential vstrom 650 owner
« on: August 16, 2019, 08:19:49 »
Hello everyone,
Thank you for letting me join your forum 😀
I'm interested in buying a used vstrom 650 but I'm unsure what's a good price for one. I have been looking at the 2012 to 2016 version and the prices seem to vary considerably.
I have seen one recently which is a 2015 with luggage 8500 miles for £3950 is that a good price?
Also how do they perform 2 up carrying luggage? As I'm a bit concerned that it won't be powerful enough only being a 650
Cheers 😊

They perform fine two up. I have ridden around the world from May 18 to July 19 and had no mechanical faults or even punctures!

Bought a 2012 model, immaculate, no luggage, 10,000 miles in Aug 2017 for £4000 - probably should have been £3500 privately. Sold it last Friday back to same dealer after having put on 31,000 miles trouble free miles, for £2500. Swapped for 2017 model with luggage, less than 5000 miles and up for £6500 - again top price but local, good service and a lovely selection of immaculate bikes to choose from. Two up they are great, good seat and big grab rails.
You'll never find yourself flying down the road wishing you were wearing less protective clothing.

Is the 2017 model much better than the earlier versions?
