Hello from Harleston, Norfolk
« on: January 15, 2020, 13:08:52 »
Returning to biking after 2 years without a BMW....

After weeks of agonising over what bike to buy I saw the light and just bought an immaculate looking DL650. 2005 vintage - not quite as old as me.  Got tired of overly heavy, fast and expensive machines. I did love every one of them but am very much looking forward to racking up some miles on a lighter and I hope cheaper to run machine.  And getting to grips with ownership through the advice available here!
Plans so far extend only as far as getting to know the bike and then Welsh National Rally in May.

(The bike and luggage are 'plastered' in the VRSI stickers of the last owner so will be looking to get some V-strom UK stickers to replace them! )

Are you showing DL250 with your avatar?

This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Welcome. I also downsized from a GS (1100 in my case) and never regretted it. The new ones are ridiculously over complicated with all their electronic gizmos.
