Greetings from Norfolk 2
« on: May 17, 2019, 22:06:33 »
Literally joined 10 mins ago so I've not had chance to fill in my profile. I will do it soon as of course. Found this forum purely by accident as I'd been looking at the USA site Stromtrooper and found a link back here.
I've been riding since early eighties, via 250 Yam, Suzuki Hustler, ER185, Honda Dream, Z650, Kawasaki GT750, GPz900 x 2, Ducati Paso 906, GPz400, ZXR750 H1, R1 x 2, ZX7 and now finally find myself on a VStrom 1000 K7.
I bought the VStrom in Texas 18 months ago, purely because I was staying there for a 7 days at a mates place and needed a ride. The price of a rental was incredible and I picked the bike up from a Pawn shop in Houston! (For not much more than rental costs).
Last year I returned to Texas and my buddy and I did nearly 4000 miles around the States taking in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming through Yellowstone. The VStrom never missed a beat all trip and when an opportunity arose to have it shipped back, for not a lot of cash, I jumped at the opportunity. I only took it out of the van today in preparation for an MOT. I'm halfway through changing the headlight unit,  need some new boots for it, will change the bulbs for LED's and pray that the Two Brothers race cans will make it through the test.
Hopefully have it on the road soon DVLA depending.
See you out there somewhere. (You'll definitely hear it!)
