Best place to buy oil/filter
« on: February 18, 2015, 21:36:52 »
With my centre stand now fitted, I have decided that I will be doing an oil and filter change on my Glee this weekend. However, being as organised as I am, I haven't actually become around to ordering a filter or oil.

So... apart from online, where is the best place to buy them - Halfords? Suzuki dealer? Somewhere else? Any recommendations on which ones to go for?

(I am located nr Hatfield, Herts if that helps)

Thanks in advance

Andy

I have just bought some Motul 5100 10w40 (5 litres bottles) for £23 each + £2.99 p&p from dennis winter on amazon.

Cheapest I could find on the net.

Opies Oils, who sponsor this forum, are a good and cheap (if not the cheapest) source.

As you want it this weekend getting a filter through the post in time might prove tricky.

Any independent motorcycle shop will be able to sell you a pattern filter as I think many Suzukis use the same one and they may have OEM ones in stock too. Any Suzuki dealer will be able to sell you the OEM one.

Don't forget a new sump bolt washer. Many may say just reuse the old one, but they are cheap enough.

Bike oil can be sourced from Halfords.

Got my oil and filter from halfords last time, they gave me the wrong one and had to take it back, didn't notice till the oil was out. Had to go in the car to swap it. No idea if it was cheapest or not.
