Muc-Off
« on: May 12, 2025, 15:25:36 »
Amazon currently have 5 litres of Muc-Off motorbike cleaner (yes, you can clean them...) for just £20 to your door at the moment. It's a bit of a bargain, but you do need a spray bottle to make the most of it.

Cheers 2112, much appreciated.

Been using it for years. I was at a kit car show and there was a bloke who was selling it from the back of his van and a table. I noticed the wheels on the van hadn't been cleaned, probably ever and asked "Could I use a drop of that Muck Off to clean one of your wheels?"

He refused but wet the wheel with water then sprayed a little Muck Off on then quickly went around the wheel with a paint brush. Then he hosed it off and left me rushing to buy two large containers of the stuff. It lasts a long time and is sometimes better watered down.

You knew that didn't you? Anyway, good find.  :thumb: :)

If you're near Sportsbikeshop they're currently selling it for £17. If you need anything else to go over £25 it's free delivery too

I didn't know that, cheers. I have to confess I'm quite new to the world of Muc-Off having been a fan of Pro Clean for absolutely ages. Pro Clean has steadily crept up in price over the years, so I thought I'd give the pink corner a try. I have to say I think it's better than Pro Clean as it seems to get more dirt off and seems to 'foam up' more. Who knows, but my green days are over and it's pink from now on!

I gave up with muck off when it refused to budge the chain oil on my swing arm.
Now I use cheap car wash, rinse and blow dry. Well yes but only twice a year. Otherwise its pained and sprayed with ACF50 ( because that is what I have). The bikes stay in the garage November to April.  :shy:
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Brockett, I think maybe you expected too much from a product meant to be used on wheels, tank, screen and most other painted or chrome parts of your bike. To expect the same product to act like Jizer or Gunk and clean caked on grease, oil and muck from the chain is (in my view) expecting a little too much. .

I only use Muck off when I want to clean the muck and ACF 50 off my bike to polish it and see it sparkle then coat it in ACF50 again. It all seems a bit pointless really. I clean the chain and mess it makes with white spirit, cheap as chips.

I do realise though, my bike will be dirty after a few miles of cleaning it and wish I had one to keep as garage clean as well as the one I ride. You are a very lucky fellow (4 bikes I think) and I am envious.  :bow-blue: :thumb:
