now I'm not going to say am I  lets say at the same speed the Tiger was 1000 rpm lower.. I'm not talking licence losing speeds.... It could be the difference between 3 and 4 pistons, I think the tick over is a bit quicker also..  It is perception. But remember I have only had 3 bikes.. 650 Strom,  1050 Tiger and now Z1000SX.... it might just be me

You may need time to adjust from engines that are happy at lower revs. I think the 2014 onwards did get a higher top gear. You just have to get used to feeling like you are revving the nuts off it. It's not a slogger so make it sing.

Ta @Brockett,,, just had something pointed out to me as I was having the same chat with a biker mate. I didn't do it consciously but I have added a cylinder at each bike change !!!! logically next one must be a 5 cylinder   if such a thing exists..... I do recall a 6 cylinder !!

To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Did not Honda race a 5 cylinder 125?

Yes they did. Back in 1966 to beat the Suzuki and Yamaha 2 strokes Honda built a 5 cylinder 125 with 4 valves per cylinder, capable of running up to 22,000rpm and had a nine speed gearbox. Good for over 130mph. I saw it at Brands Hatch around that time. Probably the loudest bike I've ever heard, along with the 6 cylinder 250 and 297cc bikes that Honda also had running then.

Yes for me the glory days. Frank Perris and Hugh Anderson on the Suzuki's at Brands Hatch. I'd wish myself back in time if it wasn't for another 44 years of work.

Well it didn't take long for "Mod Madness" to kick in  :dl_smiley_banghead:    I'm expecting a lot of improvement from not much extra screen. That is the stock one sat in front of the PUIG...   But, I like the look of the Puig in black.....
