Textile trousers?!?
« on: October 01, 2010, 08:58:25 »
My old Joe Rocket textile trousers, finally leaked this morning(in the torrential rain)...so after 3 yrs daily riding in them looks like I need a new pair?

What waterproof, armoured textile trousers does anyone recommend?

 Cheers all

 Neil

Just got a pair of Frank Thomas armoured textile trousers from the George white outlet
store in Slough, normally over 100 quid,I paid just over 60. Havn't leaked at all, they have
a removable thermal liner as well.I got the Titanium FT jacket as well, would have set me back
best part of 300 quid but got both for 130...BARGAIN!!

Just noticed your location I think GW has a couple of outlet stores not too far from you.

My textile trousers & jacket had started to leak a little lately. So a week ago I removed the armour & chucked them in the washing machine. Washed them with Nikwax detergent & then Nikwax waterproofer. Came up really well (I've never washed them before). Have yet to try it in the rain to see if its improved it though!!!
Might be worth a try before splashing out on new stuff.

Good shout, I 'saved' a jacket I was going to bin after a major leakage event but brought back to usefull service by some Nikwax, got to be worth a try   :thumb:

I have rst paragon textile trousers, comfy and warm. I prefer leather though for normal riding, as I don't like sweaty bits :)
I'm sane, honestly. . . I got a certificate to prove it!
