Givi XS307 internal dimensions?
« on: June 25, 2020, 10:58:23 »
Hello
I am thinking about buying a tank bag and essentially narrowed it down to the XS307. As I will use it for commuting as well, I wondered if there is enough space for a laptop (20x30cm) inside. The Givi webpage gives some info about the maximum dimensions, but the bag does not seem to be really square...
Does anyone know if something like a Surface Pro 3 will fit?
Cheers

The detachable map/tablet holder is rectangular, approx 20 x 25 cm. The bag itself is approx 20 x 30 internally but, as you say, not really square so I doubt you'd get something (rigid) 20 x 30 into it.
I don't have a small laptop/big tablet so haven't tried to fit such a thing into the bag - but it's just right for camera, gloves, snacks, water bottle etc, and, with the expansion zip, will also hold those odd unexpected purchases ! (I find it very difficult to avoid coming away with another pair of gloves when I visit bike shops )

I've just tried an A4 pad of paper - it just about fits in but is bent up a bit at the front (or is that rear? - the bit nearest you when you're sitting on the bike, anyway) corners due to that part being rounded.

I'd say only a really small laptop would have a chance. Mine (which says it is a Dell Latitude E5570 - for reference) would certainly not fit.

It's a quality bit of kit in general though. Really like mine.

Thank you for the swift replies... The laptop will not fit then... but I think I will still get it for having some storage space.
Cheers

Just to give this thread closure:
A Surface Pro 6 (295x208mm) does fit easily in!  :lala:
