Carole Nash breakdown recovery not good ?
« on: July 09, 2018, 20:24:26 »
seeing as I go abroad a lot I always use Carole Nash insurance because I heard their breakdown recovery was good ...however my brother in laws Honda stopped charging in the middle of France . he rang Carole Nash who promised to ring back several times & didn't then he was left to find his own hotel as well as find his own way back home ..they did nothing for him , and now they're saying it might not be worth bringing his bike back to UK and may write it off ...what's happened to Carole Nash and their great reputation ...sounds like the halo is slipping .

This isn't good news as their breakdown recovery in Europe is the main reason I use them.

I said to him  are they going to reimburse you for your hotels & travel back home , he said I've got to fill a form in and send it off and then they will get back to me .

That's not good news I was thinking of changing to Carole Nash this year after it took the RAC 13 hours to get me home when I broke down on the way back from Devon at the end of May. I put a complaint to the RAC and I've got a text back today apologizing and offering £50 in way off an apology. MY breakdown cost was £35.20   :thumb:

Not good enough when your bike is broke down abroad . Its when you're in need of help the most and that's what we pay over the odds for with nash , so you expect them to deliver a good service .

Mmmmmm, another insurance company letting us down, what a surprise!!!!
I'm with Carole Nash too, so I'll await further reports.

All the vehicles in our house are covered by our bank account with Nationwide...full European cover in any vehicle I travel in also

Even covered my Motorhome....plus a few other benefits....voted one of the best bank accounts you can get consistently on money saving expert

£13 a month
Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do or die.

sounds good that bigcats30 ..my insurance is due next month so instead of getting a "crazy" renewal from Carole Nash will look at a Nationwide account & go with another insurance company .

Bigcats30 thanks for that advice ..my renewal came in from Carole Nash £458 (for a two bike policy ) changed banks over to nationwide & took out there £13 a month for BOTH euro recovery breakdown AND travel ins ..then rang around & got my bikes insured for £230 ..saved me money plus I'm not standing in line at lloyds bank anymore to get my money out   :ty:

Hmm, that's interesting as I have a multi bike policy with CN, might have to see what else is out there.

"standing in line"?  We're British, we don't do that. We queue.
