Rear suspension adjuster wheel stuck
« on: May 17, 2018, 08:02:56 »
Bike just out of garage after winter, went to soften the rear suspension and the adjuster wheel won’t move in either direction!  Anyone encountered this problem before ?

Yes. Carefully unscrew the nut that holds on the adjuster wheel.

There are a couple of little holes in the housing under the wheel.

Spray in a bit of ACF50 and leave for a few days.

Then give it a try again.

It's worked a few times on showroom bikes in work and on my old k6 Wee.

Nb the cross head screw is made of cheese so make sure the screwdriver is a good fit and held in securely- these is a small amount of thread lock used.

+ 1 on the ball bearing and spring. Took me 30 mins to find the little bugger. Oh and on a separate "spring" point. If you lose the one in the starter switch when you clean the contacts (sigh) a spring from a ballpoint pen fits perfectly.

Diver, do you really mean acf50, or wd40?

Acf50. If its stiff due to corrosion it will help neutralise it and still lubricate it.
Stops it happening again also.
