on 12th of January I bought a 2nd hand bike,  and had it delivered. I was given the relevant section of the log book and set about putting it on a SORN as a new owner.
DVLA would not allow this as the "previous owner had not told them that ownership had been transferred". They further suggested I wait until I received the relevant document from them. Today it arrived and when I attempted the process again it again told me I couldn't for the reason given above. Even though I have the registration document in my hand. After a minute or two shouting at the screen I tried again this time going through the "existing owner" screen rather the the "new owner" screen. This time it worked but has shown the SORN as valid from today 25th January.   So this means the bike was not registered for SORN nor was it taxed between the 12th and the 25th. Am I OCD? or very slightly autistic?

Yes.

Next.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Wondered why the house was so cold this morning.  Found out when I opened the garage door.  The oil pipe to the boiler had fractured dumping the 500 litres I got last week on the garage floor! What a mess

You have my deepest sympathy Porter. Kerosene is truly horrific when it escapes.
I hope you are sorted soon. :thumb:

Oh no Porter, that's not pleasant (says me, the master of understatement) . The mess, the smell and the cost. What caused it to break?

Old age I think.  Washed and brushed the best I can but the smell is bad. My next door neighbour complaining now too. Think I'll contact my house insurance,  my bro says the floor will need to be dug up!

Don't tell anyone else about the washing. The Environment Agency do not like Kerosene in the water course. There are a few ways to sort it, the usual one is to dig everything out (even under any property) and dispose as contaminated waste. Another option used is to drill bore holes and inject bugs that eat the Kero.

Not wishing to sound negative but I've heard of family's who have had to leave the property and move into alternative accommodation until the remediation works are completed.

Once again good luck. :thumb:

Oh poor luck.
Make sure you ventiate the place as fumes can be nasty, you need special face masks.
Was involved with fuel spills (20,000 ltrs) a few years back, digging out and test pits to recover the fuel is usually done.
Try and get some absorbent spill pads as you might find some of the fuel will leech back through the concrete etc...

Good luck
May your God go with you...

Not me moaning ( as if I would) but on Youtube I have seen  a bloke set up as
Delboys garage.
He does a bit of bike mechanics and some of it is interesting. However, another bloke on a site called something like
The Workshop
does not agree with some of Delboys uttering. The Workshop bloke gets so het up he takes ages to put over his message.
It is almost entertaining to see these two having a bit of a go at one another.
I am not qualified to say which one is right , wrong etc.

Blimey Dave, talk about coincidence. I've just been watching a few of the Workshop videos. He has a right dig. Certainly no fan of Dell boys garage, but he has got a point about the inaccuracies in Dell's videos. Then you watch a few of the Workshop videos of him and the young lad stripping down a two stroke engine and the only word I could use to describe them as is "Muppets"...

 lol
Why say it once when it can be said again and rephrased until anyone would think he is just a tiny bit bonkers.

But I do agree with him when that Delboy prattles on about stuff about which he has little, if any,  knowledge.

I don't like talent shows or much (any) modern music. I don't like soap operas. I don't like winter sports (rich folk falling over should be more interesting) so I'm watching Red Dwarf on Dave and feeling very annoyed. Why ? you may ask ( although probably not)
CANNED LAUGHTER !!!!!

What’s all this “on the front foot” or “on the back foot” rubbish on most sports commentaries.

I am not a big cricket fan,but this is quoted in most sports commentaries,I understand what it means, but it just seems another load of commentators gobbledegook to me.
