As far as I'm aware the A41 is just the one "model"..... and I'm very happy with them front and rear. (And I reckoned the Anakee 3 was a better tyre than the Anakee 2, at least on my old Transalp).

I'll be climbing in my loft in the morning to get my Anakee 2's out to fit on the rear and if I take the notion the front also, I bought my Wee on the 5th of March new, and it's got 3943 miles on now and as near to the wear indicator that I care to get with the OE Bridgestones, I can't complain about their performance never had a drama with them even in the wet, if there was? the traction control took care of it! I'm looking forward to getting them on again as I really gelled with them on my XT1200Z and as for mileage I gave up bothering about that years ago, it's performance on the road that matters, and if anybody thinks you need road orientated tyres to go fast your very much mistaken!

I've never had the anakee2, had the anakee3 and didn't like them much [had them slip out twice] had to buy a new rear as a stone made it go POP, yes a small granit stone on the road, it made a slit so no patch.
I run 40psi in the back coz I is a big boy, 19.5stone.
I like the sound of the anakee2 and my mate loves um, but I am drawn to the newer a41, come on blokes make my mind up for me.
forgot to say, I ride as fast as I can most of the time  :icon_no:, to keep up with my boy on his blade  lol, well OK he waits for me a lot  :bawl: but I do love to get the pegs down.
thanks blokes.

Anakee 2 was/is a very good tyre.
Would you be surprised to know the compound of Anakee 2 + 3 is the same - only the tread pattern changes.
Michelin do have a tendency to have soft carcass that are slightly more prone to tears.
Anakee 2 was my go to tyre on my K6 Wee. The Varadero was OK with them, but the Fat girl ate a rear in 7k where the Wee was usually around 10k.

The A40 and A41 is basically a restyle of the tread pattern with an expansion of sizes to include the Africa Twin/KTM ADV 18" rear and the new BWM GS rear.
But still a very very good tyre.
A40's on the Varadero got nearly 8k - so respectable on a fat girl.

Either the A41 or Anakee 3 I'd use for a road going bike.
Anakee 2 or Tourance (original) for a bike seeing a bit of gravel.

K60's I have atm will be my last pair and I shall be going back to Anakee 2's when I need a pair.

Manufacturers sometimes specify special versions of a particular tyre for a particular bike. There are at least two versions of the A41 rear (150/70-17). One appears to be for general usage but the other appears to be specific for the BMW F750/850, possibly if running wire wheels? So if you buy A41s make sure they're the ones for the Vstrom. I'll also be fitting some in the next few weeks. Wonder if I'll get more than the usual 2,500 miles from the rear, which is the maximum I've had from any rear tyre in the last 20 years......

Am trying Michelin Road 5 Trail on mine currently. They work as well as anything on the sort of offroad that the Vee is capable of other than mud.
