That looks like a surveying / mapping van to me.

Pity they don't ride motorcycle, they'd soon find where the crap road conditions are.

Have your handlebars melted in the sun - they seem to be drooping downwards...?  :)

Maybe not a speed camera van then .... good, but just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me. I really really really do hate those things.

I suspect that vehicle is a google mapping /street view thingy. The device on the offside rear wheel could measure distances. Anything highways/council is plastered with chapter 8 chevrons with amber beacons.

Anyone remember tha camera inside the John Deere tractor on a Yorkshire ride a few years ago, it was somewhere near Fimber?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

@ holmesy, I ride a sportsbike and a vstrom, I may push the limits on both bikes, but I always slow for the villages, but in contrast to your Mr sportsbike comment, I have often noticed when on my sportsbike and  that after overtaking a Tourer, Adventure bike, upright bike etc in the lanes, that going through the village they suddenly seem to appear up my chuff, they certainly don't get there by sticking to 30 ;).
I don't think you can label a rider of certain types of bikes (or cars) for speeding in villages, its just idiots in general.
