Hello there thinking of buying Cosmo handlebar shelf to install 12v outlets etc., I have 2015 DL650, just wondering if anybody out there has fitted one. How does it attach ? Hard to tell from pics on Cosmo website. Is it easy install etc ......... Any tips/advice greatly appreciated.

Fitted one about 6 months ago. Really easy to fit. Take off the wire cable clamps on top yoke and fit shelf in its place

I have bought one and intend fitting. I have the voltage meter with it. What practical use will that be for me? I'm not taking the mickey, even if it came up with some numbers I'm not sure if that would be good or bad? I really want the USB charging facility.

A couple of months ago, I came across a chap pushing his gxsr up a hill in the Peak District . Turned out he had fitted a new rec/reg but it wasn't charging. Battery was completely flat. If he had had a voltmeter he would have seen the low voltage and avoided a lot of physical exertion!

Exactly that. Surprising how heavy a dead bike is to push more than 20 yards.
.......And :welcome: .

Thanks for that. So what would a healthy battery display (12v battery I suppose)
What sort of numbers would indicate a problem?
I’m just weighing up whether someone with my vast experience and knowledge of electrics should tackle this. (Bullshit alert)????

Benefit is seeing the resting voltage of approx. 12.5 volts and then seeing the reg/rectifier doing its job and delivering 14 volts when running. Really handy in my opinion.

Expect around 13.5 to 13.8 volts depending on the load. I wired my USB to the sidelight supply and voltmeter is tapped off it. Since lights are ignition controlled I don't have to worry about switching off. Also means if you switch key to parking light position, socket is live for Sat Nav setting, without starting up

If this works I have attached the Cosmo Dash board Instructions for your help
