Show me your (Tony Archer) seats
« on: July 21, 2018, 15:08:26 »
After 42,500 miles I think the foam in the stock seat has given up so I've booked the seat in with Tony Archer for a reshape. They have a 2 week turnaround at the moment but as I use it daily they've booked me in for a couple of weeks time and will do a next day collection for me  :thumb:

I'm now deciding what to ask for,  am thinking add a bit of height & reshape to stop constant sliding into the tank...

What did everyone else ask for?

Similar, keep my balls off of the tank and give me a couple of inches additional height.

Less forward slope, a bit of room nicked off the pillion, and some tarty piping and basket weave covering. I've got a standard glee seat you can use while it's getting stuffed.

......that is a price for reshaping an existing seat, of course. Mine was £100 a few weeks back, the seat itself was an ebay job.

Nice! I've seen a couple on eBay for about £50, might have to get one made up.

Cheers fellas, much appreciated about borrowing the seat. I'm hoping I'll be OK with the quick turnaround time but will let you know.

Seat looks great Rusty - I may just show him that picture and say do that  :thumb:

I've been told £120 for reshape & recover with a 24hr turnaround so not too bad. That's me dropping off/picking up.

No two seats are ever the same from T.A. He has no formula, just listens to what you say and tries to do what you want.

I know - he's an artist and will provide something unique. Anything will be better than stock setup.

What I need to do is add a cushion or something to the current seat to help decide how much I want to raise the seat by whilst still be able to get my feet down

That seat looks great Mark as does the whole bike, is that seat a bit lower too?

Hello. I just did a trip to Ireland on my 2017 DL650AX Vstrom. I guess I've lost some natural padding over the years and was less than impressed with what Suzuki have supplied! As I wish to do a longer trip to Spain, a re-upholstered seat looks to be the way to go. Ebay has a few 650 seats on offer but not specifically for the 2017+ model. Any one know what will and won't fit my bike as I'd like to keep the original as is too. ?

It is not lower, but it is a lot more comfortable. A great value mod.
