Monday :- fitted Evo-Tech radiator guard.

Thursday:- fitted Givi windscreen ( having ordered a Kappa  same thing)

Today:- fitted an Evo-Tech engine guard. I Might not have bothered with this if only Suzuki supplied a proper mudguard :groan:

I like the look of that engine guard. Does it fit the Strom too?

That red frame is just porn... :icon_drool5:

@tallpaul - I don't know if the strom engine has the same unused threaded holes in the front cylinder to support the lower part of the inner bracket.  The upper support is to utilise the exhaust header bolts.  I hope the "upshots" of the frame haven't been too exciting.

I took a nice photo of the screen but unfortunately, not all of it. A photo will follow soon.
The screen just doesn't quite touch the top of the headlight .... until the engine is running and the bike on the move, when it does. I thought the engine was failing during this evenings test run until I touched the screen and the racket stopped. So that's a job for the weekend. Remove and trim/file or try to bend the brackets a bit. Hmmmmm?

True. Jap welding's come on a bit in the last 40 - odd years, hasn't it?

Certainly has come on a bit: the welding on my TS looks more like was done by the local fauna than Fanuc...

My SV's welding was still some way behind where the KTM is though: probably excessive wire feed so it's lumpy, and just inconsistent.

I had a leisurely blat to Monaco (Scarborough) this morning. Coffee and cake on the harbour, home in time for dinner (lunch).

I'm very pleased to report the KTM ergo seat is much, much comfier than the standard offering and is excellent value at £127.00. I need to give it a dose of looking at as it's 20mm taller in its lowest setting. The Arrow can sounds magnificent.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

@Rusty, I think it means making other things fit. Buying stuff is OK it seems. :lala:

My ears were fine with the new seat.

@DLste I removed the screen and brackets and relocated by tipping the brackets slightly as per the photo:
I am not too happy that the semi circle bracket does not damage the fork leg so I added some tape.
Without the "tilt" fit of the bracket the plastic screen rests on the top of the headlamp rim.
Also quite annoying was to find the seat locating lock tongue is an unrefined right angle or pressed steel. one edge is rounded and other is sharp enough to scratch the inner frame, which it has, two minutes with a light file and the problem is solved. Although .... the frame is still scratched.
I was poking around looking for a switched feed for a tapping for my chain oiler when I found a connection that is permanently live. I can't see what that is for.

@Brocket don't use that one the switched one is under the tank and very easy to get to just remove the 2 side panels and leave the front one on after removing the two bolts the tank just lefts up like a car bonnet and the feed is at the side of the rear cyclinder head. The screen should just sit over the top of the headlight in front of the rim to stop rain going through the chrome rim and inside of the light.  Hope this helps. :thumb:

Spent some while adjusting the angle of the screen brackets until I got them looking straight and level and the screen clear of the headlamp rim and adjusted the handlebars to bring them further back and more towards a position where my hands are nearly parallel to the ground. Quite how some folk ride in that thumbs down and pinkie fingers up stance is a mystery to me. I took the SV for an 80 mile to my wife's place for a cuppa and to check everything I fiddled with stayed put. Nothing fell off so after a quick cuppa  back home I decided on a trip to Old Buckenham for "Two Wheel Tuesday". As I trundled up the A140 the sky became overcast  with thick white cloud and by the time I reached the "green" it was surprisingly cold ... well I was surprised anyway. There was barely a hundred bikes there and nowhere near the five hundred to a thousand that usually turn up. It was so cold I had a quick walk round the assembled machines and then got back on the SV and trudged home. All in all 210 miles covered today and now, with 440 miles on the clock, the first 600 mind numbing running-in miles are nearing completion. Quick and immediate solution to the rock hard seat was the application of the "Air Hawk" pad that I used on my cruiser. It looks odd but feels great. Hmmmmmm!

@DLste: I wasn't going to use that white plug but I am curious to know why there is a 'permanently live', open plug under the seat.  I couldn't find that feed you described but I'll check again. Is it an open plug? and do you recall what colour it is?

I sold my Varadero 1000 to the very first person to view it. Down to one bike now and it's in pieces...
