I left the house at 8.00am and was surprised just how busy the roads were. Lots of camper vans and a few bikers, there are lots of people into camping, kayaking, mountain biking, hill walking and the like in the area...I felt knackered after it as the weather was cold despite having good equipment and merino base layers and all the rest of it.

I went to Scotland for the first time in my life June 2016 age 53. Glencoe was the highlight of the week (clockwise NC500). In the week we had two one hour periods of rain and sunny/cloudy rest of time.
We got to Glencoe heading north at about 18:30hrs and traffic very light, sun going behind hills. Riding across the moor towards the glen was fantastic and I wish I had had some rousing music to play in my helmet. Stopping at the view point in the Glen it was just our four bikes and I can only describe it as walking into a silent massive beautiful cathedral. So so atmospheric. Three of us had never been there before and we were speechless.
Sounds like I’m blathering on but this is the only time I have felt like this in my days. Even crossing the Applecross pass in beautiful sunshine and clear views, the next day, came no where near despite being told this would be the highlight of the week.
A wonderful place and memory!
(Returned the same week 2017 and had 6 days heavy rain out of 8. Couldn’t see the other side of the glen when we stopped at the Glencoe view point, you can’t win them all).

I first went there about 35 years ago, I couldn't believe that this place existed in the same country I lived in. But my life is an urban life in Glasgow. Its great when you get the weather, but it can be a struggle. Glad you enjoyed it.
Kind regards
