Waterpump Paint?

Has anyone managed to match the colour on the Wee engine cases. I want to touch up the waterpump housing and don't want to take it off. Ta!

Masked mine off and did it matt black. Doesn't look too bad at all.

Have you thought of Raptor paint ???.

I saw it at a show I was at in April. ... Bloody good stuff .... Heat and chip resistant. ... I'm still considering doing my panels in the stuff.

Thanks for the replies Folk. I don't really want to go Matt Black - at least not yet. I think I'm going to try Autotek Steel Wheels as it'swell.... a little less silver! I'm going to paint the Chain Adjuster plates with it so it won't be a waste if it doesn't match. Will post the results as it seems to be very difficult paint to match.

If you really go for it and strip it down, paint the Clutch cover and Water Pump with the same paint.

Simples.

Vauxhall Titanium Pearl.
Not an exact match but very close, just bought a rattle can (HYCOTE) and its put up with the heat OK, only used it on the pump mind, other cases might get hotter.

Has anyone done a guide to stripping out both the clutch cover & water pump?
I'm tempted to do mine soon.

There's not much to it, drain oil and coolant, remove rear brake pedal and anything else in the way and then remove all the bolts.

Depending on whether it's a Vee  or a Wee (it may be year dependant too), the Water Pump will either come straight off or the impeller will need to be removed from the inside of the Clutch cover (circlip).

Factor in replacing gaskets

The gaskets are what I was wondering about.... PITA to remove and not cheap to replace either (I suspect).
I may try to do them in-situ...

You may get away with the Water Pump gasket but replace the other with an OE part. I have done a few and pattern gaskets have always needed attention to stop small leaks.

Repainted my pump cover in situ, took one mounting bolt out at a time prepped the area around it then bolt back in, just work around in succession then mask it all up for spraying.
Disturbs as little as possible but you can still do a decent job.
