Photo sizes on this site
« on: January 29, 2018, 14:01:23 »
The photos posted on this forum are always really tiny; far too small to see any detail at all, but I noticed (for the first time) today a great improvement in this thread ; where by clicking on Ridaz11's photos a much larger image is generated.

So is there a specific way of uploading figures to do this? Or have I missed something and is it a new site feature?   Really good, anyway.  :thumb:

The site resizes any images to 640px, the post from Ridaz contain images that are on an external site.

I use http://tinypic.com/ to host my pictures for here. Free and relatively simple to use.

The only downside, as Photobucket has proven, if the hosting company changes the rules and wants you to pay or they go offline, your pictures won't display.

I recommend uploading directly to this site.

Can you not allow them to be just a little bit bigger though?  I appreciate bandwidth is money and all that but even so...

What device are you viewing them on? 640x480 is pretty big.

Just a normal computer monitor, usually. 640px is really not very big!
