Adhesive to reattach decals?
« on: December 23, 2017, 22:15:52 »
Hi, my Glee came fitted with the accessory Suzuki decals attached to the cowling and side panels. One of these decals says 650 VStrom on each side of the cowling and one end, of one of these has become detached.
It would appear that the FS360 anti-salt spray I use in the winter has got under the decal and dissolved the adhesive, otherwise the decal is in perfect condition.
Has anyone had a similar issue? If so I would like to know what would be the best adhesive to use if I carefully clean and dry the decal and cowling and try and stick it back down?

That's an interesting one...I would consider a fine coat of evolution stick contact adhesive, it will be permanent, but wait to see what others here come up with...

hello I had to reattach the s decal on my tank panel after a car park incident. dealer wants £20 each so cleaned with thinners then applied sump sealer. yes I know but when dry clean off it will never move again.

I reattached the frame number sticker to the TS with a bit of double sided carpet tape: almost invisible & been there a couple of years without moving.
